View Full Version : Will we play the Doggies in a Prelim again?

I know that the weagles are firm faves to win this weekend, but i think that the dogs will push them hard, and if they can play their running game then anything could happen. especially if Brad Johnson is firing! and with two 300 game milestones, you'd expect them to come out firing!!

whats everyone else think?

It'd be good for tradition too!!:)

not sure about that

Doggies can be devestating on song, and they almost have as many SA blokes as we do so I reckon either team will provide a full on contest

if the bulldogs are good enough to beat the Eagles good luck to them - hopefully it takes it out who ever wins :D

I have no doubt that whoever we do play, we will start underdog.

If West Coast win the "experts" will be saying: West Coast have the wood over the Crows, etc, etc

If the Bulldogs win the "experts" will be so enamoured with the fact that the Bulldgos beat WC at Subi, that they will favour them.

Er..we are in a prelim....at home, no way we will be an underdog. ESPECIALLY against the Bulldogs.

Im just worried that should we happen to play the Dogs, it may be third time unlucky. I think we will beat west coast should we play them.

Just put $5 on the dogs to win this week.

I reckon they are a real show, Rodney Eade is a master coach IMO.

i think whoever we play will come over a bit tired as the dogs and the weagles will both try to run with it. and if the dogs get up, theyre back to melbourne then to adelaide. it'll be tough for them. and last time we played them at AAMI we beat them by 88 points or something, they had won all their games up until that point i believe.

I'd be ecstatic if we played you guys in a Prelim.

Yokel, you don't have a choice who you play.

If i was in a sudden death semi-final I'd be ecstatic to win as wel :)

Absolutely. While both would be tough opposition, West Coast finished top and the Bulldogs finished 8th. That says it all right there.

People are building a case for the Bulldogs but in reality I think they will get smashed this week.

It reminds me a bit of the Crows playing that final in Brisbane in 2002. We started making a case for ourselves because we had actually won a game or two against them (including one in Brisbane in 2001) plus a preseason cup game up there. Our record against them wasn't too bad compared to everyone else. Travelling to the Gabba holds no fears for us. We've won there before. Maybe we could knock them off...

No.

No we couldn't.

Will we? Probably not. I agree with Musha that Eade is the key to this. He will be tactically more astute... its whether the players do the job.

The weather is warming up here and hopefully that takes its toll. I would love to see the Doggies fairytale continue but I feel WC have been one of the form sides all year while 2007 is the Doggies time to shine

WC by 5 goals

The Eagles aren't a shade on Brisbane from that era.

If we do play the Dogs we will thrash him. We belted them earlier this year when they were top. We have won 2 Prelims against them. We will definitely make the Grand Final if we play the Dogs.

Doubt it. We played port 3 times in one season and won every single match. Some of you guyz are way too superstitious.

Yeah and we didnt just win the final (and third game) against Port. We bent those bitches over and gave them a good seeing to.

I do not care who we play, all I care about is us rocking up that saturday with our A grade game.
Nothing else matters.

But an observation,we play the Bulldogs we get this revenge stuff from 8 and 9 years ago and how they recently beat us.

We play the Eagles and we get the stuff about there record against us and at AAMI and lots of Arrogance from there supporters.

None of it means squat.

Our Record against North in 98 meant nothing in that GF.

What does matter is we recently had a good look at both sides using there A grade game,we did not on these occasions use our A grade game.

Go Doggies!!!

If they happen to win against WC, they would have travelled from Vic to WA, back to Vic, over to SA in just over a week.... thats a lot of frequent flyer points.....Add to that the heat over here and there running game, they will be a lot more worn out than WC, who have not travelled for 2 weeks.....

Plus i want to see WC out in straight sets......:D

Doesn't matter who we play in the prelim though.... All we need is the boys to play their A games.....

Bulldogs to win tonight by 5 pts, and anothr heart breaking PF loss to the might of the AFC next week.

If our crowd is as half as passionate and vocal as last nights Freo 'Purple' army then nobody will get within a bulls roar of the AFC.

I didnt think they found their voice until they got in front...unlike the AFC crowd who roared all day :thumbsu:

Apparently we will play neither the Bulldogs or Eagles in the prelim, according to the wise words of The Age.

"Adelaide will play the winner of Friday night's semi-final between Fremantle and Melbourne in the preliminary final at AAMI Stadium on Saturday week."

Almost as funny as chanel 9 reporting that the bulldogs and melbourne were going to have the week off this week after winning their elimination finals.

Oh without a doubt. He has been a SUPER coach and what is most pleasing is that he has gone away after his Sydney gig and looked at where he might have gone wrong and addressed those issues.

The man is a genius and deserves all the accolades he gets IMHO :thumbsu:
