I am not sure if this has been canvassed on big footy before but can a player that has already gone to one club under the father son rule, be drafted under that rule again?

If one of the Clokes decided to go into this years draft could Richmond secure him with a 3rd round pick?

No.

Any player who has been on an AFL list can NOT be taken under the father-son rule. So even if Shane Tuck was delisted (not taken f/s by Hawthorn originally), he could not be taken by them.

You did.. he couldnt cut it back then. Some say the pressure of the old mans career and the expectations on him. Moved to West Adelaide I think, did well and had a crack on Richmond's rookie list.

According to Michael on ABC radio a couple months ago, Shane was an extremely reluctant footballer. He suggested that might have been why.

How's Travis coming along?

Tuck was paper-thin when he was rookie-listed by the Hawks and somewhat inevitably popped his shoulder.

He was one of those guys who wasn't mature enough for footy and went to suburban footy down Frankston way and got a full time job and did some growing up.

Shaun Rehn remembered him and invited him to West Adelaide where he thrived and was a stand-out. That got him drafted to Richmond where he struggled to learn how to play according to team rules - not just on instinct.

It is completly unfair to suggest the Hawks messed up. If he hadn't been sacked and had to get a real job he might never have changed his attitiude and committed to footy.

Travis is coming alonng well, i spoke to him the other days and he is hoping for a big preseason, he hopes to play in the nab cup this year get a taste of work from their, top bloke and i personally hopes he goes far from the effort he used to put in when we played together.

I stand corrected.. didnt know the full story about him at the Hawks but knew something was wrong down there. Didnt know it was lack of maturity.

But the point is exact, the Hawks didnt mess up
