There is massive hype for the upcoming 2006 draft. Does anyone have any info about next year's prospects? Any standout #1 pick? Cheers

Bryce Gibbs (onballer) seems to be the standout number 1 pick, with Scott Gumbleton (KPP), and Lachlan Hansen (KPP) the next ones. Check out some of the other threads on this board for a more detailed answer ;)

Matt Kruzuer will be a high pick - good ruckman

Chris Masten - terrific on-baller

Nathan Waite (brother of Jarrod) I think is eligible next year ? for Carlton's F/S

Actually maybe the year after. Lets hope he can kick better than Jarrod. :thumbsu:

Edit: Sorry guys - Not eligable untill 2008.

As will Thomas Bellchambers, another good ruckman

Trent Cotchin and Adam Maric from Northern and Calder might be a chance next year.

Honest mistake I would have thought , after all , we are still 2 months away from the 06 draft and somebody is asking about 07?

Anyway I'd say Kreuzer and Henderson will get picked. They would probably have gone this year but too young

Scott Selwood, (or would he be to young still?).

I was led to believe that he did not have a brother.

I thought he only had sisters.

Pencil in a ruck for Carlton next year.

Hamish Hartlett is a brother of a Carlton player but a midfielder and reportedly a gun. :thumbsu:

darcy daniher is going to essendon under the f/s rule, booming kick, 193 cm and still growing, would have been a lock in top 10 next year, we have done a geelong

ben mcavoy from the bushies would have gone high in this years draft but is ineligible . should be a top 10 pick next season.

i think Masten will be #1, very hard to say, but i think he would have gone top 20 this year had he been eligable.

Captain of u/17 Australian team, clocked up 25 &30+ touches in games in this years championships, really looks good. Kruzer looks very good too.

Surprised nobody has mention Veszpremi, he was more impresive than Masten in this years carnival IMO.

I'd take Masten over Veszpremi any day

Veszpremi is a gun, bottom aged and was in the all TAC team at the national carnivals. Kreuzer also in the Metro team bottom age. From what I've heard both these Calder guys are potential top 5.

Calder wish they had Veszpremi and Kreuzar, they play with Northern.

Tom Swift - Onballer from Claremont (WA)

Had a very good under 16 championship, racked up 41 possessions against Vic Country and another 45 against Vic Metro.

He came second in the Kevin Sheehan medal to Hamish Hartlett, and won the West Australian best and fairest award.

Looks to be a very good prospect

EDIT- Just noted that he will just miss out for next years draft, but should be available for the 2008 draft
