Why this bloke isn't a permanent starter instead of say, Headland, continues to elude me.

He has only played 8 games this year. First was rd 13 (when we nearly beat syd). He's been in 1 losing, 7 winning teams this year for freo and was in the side from rd 15 to rd 20 when the team where in their 9 in a row streak and was unlucky to be dropped for Haz rd 21.(IMO he should have stayed in and played rd 21,22 and against Adel in the first final)

He was nearly BOG for Freo in their 2003 final in his 4th AFL game(did his knee again late in the game after playing a blinder). He has had 3 knee reconstructions and only played about 25 games in total but is a great kick and decision maker. He runs hard, tackles hard, knows how to hit his team mates when he handballs.

The Guy is a must to stay in the 22! I'd drop cookie or maca (only cause they are slower and not as good at their disposals) before i'd drop him again!

I have to agree, he was sensational. He used his body perfectly on the weekend, typical selfless game. The guy still doesn't think he'll get a run against Sydney with Grover coming back.

Headland simply isn't cutting it in the finals. That's 2 games where he has been in the bottom few players, he's simply not contributing. I'd pick Webster over him for Sydney!
