Congrats on your win.
You may find it useful to check out the dimensions of Telstra Stadium - very different to the SCG and very similar to Skilled Stadium.
Quite long but not really wide. Will that suit your side?
I've seen the Swans there a few times - can flood like buggery and also choke up the middle of the ground.
Good luck next week.

Skilled Stadium is very similar size to Subi.... so that would mean TS is similar to Subi. :thumbsu:
Great news cos we suck at the SCG!
BTW - go Doggies!! :)

Telstra Stadium is 160 x 118
Subiaco is 175 x 122
SCG is 149 x 136
MCG is 160 x 141
Telstra Dome is 160 x 129
AAMI is 165 x 133
Just for a comparison...

So, Telstra Stadium is the same length as the 'G and TD, but much narrower.
I think that will make a Sydney flood much more effective.
For the record, in terms of area.
MCG>Subiaco>TD>AAMI>SCG>Telstra Stadium.
Small enough area to make a very good flood.

Sydney can flood all they want, but if we play the smarter footy we should realistically win. Sydney like to flood the centre corridor, one of our strengths, but we are also effective when we bring the ball down the wing quickly.
Players like Hayden and Headland and Peake will be our catalysts and if their delivery to players like Carr and Bell is good through the middle of the ground, i'm sure that Pav and Murph and even Wiz will all present well.

Correct - if you become indecisive and chip it around you're dead meat.
Other result of flooding back there is that it leaves an enormous amount of space in their forward line. I've often seen Hall wandering around the centre of the ground waiting for the ball to come forward. When it does, it's very open for he and Micky O.
Interesting fact: when I saw the Pies beat them there, someone basically took O'Keefe out the game - had no influence in the game. You'll need to do this too to win.

Does anyone believe the possible 80,000 fans that will be at this game will have any affect on the outcome, the Dockers have never been in an atmosphere like what they can expect this weekend and i think it will play more of a part than the dimensions of the ground.

There are only at most 40-50k "diehard" swans fans, if not 30-40k. The remaining 40k will be either AFL expats from other teams living in Syd or the three times a year AFL fans. I can't see them making as much noise as 42000 Freo fans at Subi or 45k Crows fans at AAMI.
And despite what people say, I've never seen a fan kick a goal yet.

The freo crowd does occasionally.
Is there a more inspiring set of supporters for their club out there?
I dont think so.
Last weekend after an effort below our best, the sound was deafening..So much so that many supporters of other clubs commented.
