View Full Version : Focus shift. Tactics versus Sydney.
McPharlin --> Hall (apparently McPharlin's ankle is fine)
Parker --> O'Loughlin
Dodd --> O'Keefe
The above matchups are essential. If we can get on top against those guys we are well on the way to winning the game.
Goodes is in excellent form, and will love the wide open spaces, M.Carr to be given the job again. He did pretty well against him during round 13. If this isn't working switch Mundy/Johnson to O'keefe and give Dodd the job.
I wouldn't change the lineup at all. Webster should be given the job of tagging Kennelly, he did an excellent job of shuttin down Yze and creating some headaches up forward himself.
If Grover is fit, i can't think of anyone to drop. I feel sorry for the match committee. If Webster is dropped, i'll be very upset.

Peake? I know what you'll all say but I thought he was our worst last night.

No, no and no. He was great, starting Schammer and Peake on the bench and bringing them on during the first quarter really tests the run of the opposition. Its one of our strengths. Lately we have been kicking away towards the ends of quarters because of our superior running game. Dropping Peake is blasphemy.

Don't think they will be dropping Peake
What i'm alluding to is that Grover may not be able to find a spot :eek:

You may be right, but he gives us an option to release someone else forward

Agree.
Hall - McPharlin
O'Loughlin - Parker
O'Keefe - Dodd
Davis - Hayden
Although I get the feeling might get Dodd to tag Goodes. We would then have to play Mundy on O'Keefe.
Who do we play Crowley and Matt Carr on? Webster on one of their running half backs?

I would be sure Carr would tag goodes.
Dodd is exclusivly a defender now.

I'd love to see Pav start in the centre square opposed to Goodes for the first 5 minutes. Would be great to watch and would throw off Roos' planning. Matt Carr to play on Goodes after that. Josh Carr on Kirk, Bell on Hey Jude.
There is no obvious match up for Johnson next week so he should play most of the game as a loose defender but spend some time forward to really stretch the swans defence.

Headland and McManus were the worst.
i reckon switch parker and mcpharlin, so parker-hall and mcpharlin- o'loughlin
mcpharlin seems a bit too lightweight for hall

If Grover comes in i wouldnt be too surprised to see him take Hall for abit.
It will be hard for the committee that is for sure:confused: but that is the best way to go into a final having numbers pushing for a spot.
