Watched the game on pay last night. very impressed with ;
Rhys Archard - 178cm-78kilos - CLASS
Josh Thewlis - 184cm - 88 kilos - TOUGH AS NAILS
Alwyn Davey - 176cm - 78 kilos - AARON DAVEY MACH 2
Can some of the South Australian guys on here give me some infomation on these guys. Looked Bloody awesome to me last night, but its a pretty small sample size (1 game).

Not an SA boy Hodgey but you don't have to be to know about these guys.
Archard is from Echuca and has been a terrific player in the GV for years.Also had a year with Essendon in the VFL as a top up,23yo.He has tiny and has only just started to get stronger in the body.He has ridden track work for years and is still employed in SA to do that.
Thewlis was at Sydney and a rookie at the Kangaroos last year and has always been tough but at times can just do dumb things.He is 22.
Davey is also 22 and has a thread on him already.Had a huge last month or so at SANFL level which could see him get drafted.

Archard is a very good kid, he really has stood out a lot to me in games I have seen him. Seems small but boy he has a real go, LOVES to run goalward with the footy, runs lines hard always setting his team up and getting a ****load of the footy and unlike a lot of high possession players, he doesn't burn the ball. Considering it was his first year in the SANFL I thought he did VERY well and will poll strongly in the Magarey medal. I hope he wins it because he would be worth a shot at AFL.
Thewlis I don't really rate that highly, has had some strong games but also some not so good games. Certainly a tough and hard player but IMO not an AFL standard player.
Davey, well as I said on Davey thread, this dude is bloody good. Just like his bro, I really hope he gets drafted, AFL is better off with another Davey thats for sure.

thewlis looks to have improved markedly since i saw him playing for port melb last year. strong mark and has some versitility. kicked a big bag up forward recently v north adelaide. dont know if hes worth another look tho.
achard is too small to get a gig in my book. perfect for SANFL level, but doesnt have the express pace needed to get on an AFL list with his size. which is a shame really because he really has a red hot go and knows where the goals are. ive been trying to think of a way he could get onto a list, and i hope he does, but i just dont think hes going to be quick enuff. 25 years ago he would have got a game no worries.
enuff has been said about davey already. ill be very surprised if he doesnt get picked up by someone.
i mentioned on another board a south player ive liked the look of all year, scott mcglone. was on swans rookie list for a while, and from the games ive seen of him, has the sort of pinpoint kicking needed to play in a keepings off system like richmonds for example.
