Biased maybe but I voted for the Dees. It was out of the Dees and the dogs as they both went the furthest in the final and since the Dees weren't thrashed I voted for them.

Since the Dee's weren't thrashed is your excuse?
Because the Dogs weren't defeated twice in 06 by the spooners, my vote is the Dogs. :)

Yeah, Dogs for me too.
All I remember from Melbourne at the moment was Jeff White last night sweating like a Carlton 2006 bitch in heat!

1>Bulldogs - Always troubling frenetically pacey with the class of West dishing it out and Johnson's goal hanging to cap it off in spite of injuries obviously not as damaged as the saints.
2>Melbourne - Had alot of trouble without Davey and Pickett at one stage but McLean's ball getting and Johnstone's disposal makes them quite decent
3>St.Kilda - Shocking injury list, couldn't compete with other mid-fields really through those missing key players.
4>Collingwood- stopped playing football for a while really, no real injury concerns and had a very favourable draw to make the eight.
Hmm....
I voted for Melbourne - I think they were the most consistent over the season. I think that Daniher got the most out of his players and talent that he had as well.
The Bulldogs were a close second. Their best is far superior to Melbournes best, have a lot of improvement left in them - I expect them to make a big impact next year.
The Dogs. They developed a lot this season where as Melbourne did the same thing they have done a couple of times in recent seasons, that is, start off a little slow, dominate mid season and then fall away towards the end of the season. Losing to Carlton twice in one season was telling..even the Bombers didn't do that.

I dont understand why this is a poll. Melbourne were the best Victorian team. They finished highest of all the Vic teams, and beat their rival for the title in the Doggies right near the end of the season.
The Doggies were fantastic this year, and should be proud of where they finished. Melbourne underacheived if anything, yet were still the best Vic team. This poll is stupid.

I dont understand why this is a poll. The Dogs were the best Victorian team. They went furthest into the finals of all the Vic teams, and beat their rivals for the title in the Dees once during the season.
Melbourne were decent this year, and should be happy with what they did, but Melbourne overachieved if anything so were almost indubitably behind the Dogs as the 'Best Vic Team'. This poll is stupid.

Phil hawk you have no idea at all. Dees were clearly the best and will once again be clearly the best next year.

Were you or were you not defeated twice by the spooners?
Dogs are far above that. :)

Fact is Melbourne finished 5th, Doggies finished 6th. Therefore Melbourne were the best Victorian team this year.

Melbourne - They had more wins over teams that made the 8.
:D That's what I love about Melbourne supporters, they always thing their team is better than it really is. They talk so rationally about it too. Always have the "considered" argument. My whole family follow the Dees so I see it all the time. Dees are not a bad team but they're not as good as they think they are.
Gee guys. You're arguing about who came 5th. Who cares? 5th = NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Might as well be 9th or 16th.

Not arguing over who came 5th.
FACT - Melbourne came 5th.
FACT - Bulldogs came 6th.
FACT - Melbourne finished higher than the Bulldogs in the H&A season, and lost by less in their prelim final.
FACT - Melbourne beat more teams in the 8 than the Bulldogs.
FACT - Melbourne and the Bulldogs both beat each other once during the H&A season.
So using the facts, Melbourne were the best Victorian team in 2006. Not that it matters for sh*t now. The Doggies played more exciting football to watch, but Melbourne were better. But either way, both are gone now, and Vic teams have failed again. Not one of them has won a flag since 2000, and it'sa problem that needs to be addressed.

Good'o enjoy then if it gives you pleasure.
FACT - 18th Sept 2006 Melbourne finishing 5th in the 2006 season totally forgotten by everyone. Only position ever remenbered is 1st. All other finishes irrelevant. 2nd = 16th. No pleasure there.
Or are you suggesting that 5th should be the battle for the Victorian premiership, because if you are please don't.

Melbourne for me.
Dogs were too inconsistent.
Pies had an easy draw.
St Kilda well......

I voted Dogs because:
Freo played Collingwood once and beat them: 1/0
Freo played St Kilda twice and beat them both times: 2/0
Freo played Melbourne 3 times and won 2, lost one: 2/1
Freo played the Dogs once and we lost: 0/1
So considering our 0% success rate against the Dogs in 2006, and our 83% success rate against the other 3 teams - I reckon the Doggies must be the ones!
Great logic, huh? ;)
