For mine, there is no comparison here.
Douglas will be a future star while Thomson will continually struggle for a spot in Port Power's line up.
Who would you rather have in your side?

I have liked this guy since his u18 days and was dissapointed he didn't end up at Essendon. Will truly be a great player.
Thompson has been Ok, and should be a good player. Douglas should be a great.
I'll admit that Thompson has shown more to date, but that wasn't the question.

Unfair post esp because Dougie has only played a handful of games and in my view didn't look like a tough inside midfielder as he's reputed to be with Glenelg. On the other hand Thommo has been in the system a bit longer and in all the games he's played, has actually proved to be a tough inside midfielder at AFL level. Mark has played Thommo 50-60 minutes gametime most matches but his value for touches, esp clearance work has been nothing short of exceptional for his age. Call me biased, but I'm happy with Thommo all the way

hard to split the two of them to be honest, theya re very different in the way they play their footy.
But i will make a big statement which a lot will disagree with................ if Port persist with Ben Eckermann he will be better than oth of them.

Why is it then that you & your pals continue to make polls about Thomson then if you think that he'll struggle to get a game?

Douglas.
Thomson may be a handy player, but i see him being more of a no frills style player.
Douglas on the other hand seems to have that extra class and polish that could see him become a champion.

I don't know much about Thomson, but he seems like he'll become a good player and a quiet achiever.
Douglas is better IMO - he'll become a ball magnet.
