I still hate Essendon more than Carlton...
Not by much, but I think I've been softened by the whole "Carlton being one of the worst teams the AFL has ever seen" thing.

I dont want Essendon to be better because im sick of them winning, and I hate Carlton. So I picked Essendon because they are least hated by me out of those two.

Same, Carlton have gone from you hating them to feeling pity and embarrasment for them. I really hope that Carlton do something, it is becoming really bad really.
Plus I hate Essendon. Hate Sheedy, hate Lloyd, hate the cockyness of the club and their suporters. For Richmond supporters, the sweetest win would be beating the bombers, well for me anyway.
