With the hopeful imminent departure of Henneman who do you think will get the once coveted 3 jumper?
I think that either Paddy Ryder or our 1st pick? Thoughts?? I know its a bit early but a lot more thought needs to be done to resurect the once great number!
(Our sponsor might have a say over it...)

I still associate number 3 with King Richard Renoylds (filters didn't allow his common first name). With that in mind I would give it to a midfielder. Perhaps Dempsey. Or maybe the first midfielder we recruit in the draft.
definately gumbleton who I think will be a Bomber unless Carlton draft Lueuenberger.

Here is my prediction for number changes----
#3 will either go to Sam Lonergan( up and coming midfielder ala dyson and stanton last season to #2 & #24)
or if we draft Gibbs hell get it coz he has that for Glenelg
#7 will go to Johns because hes a big aggresive player like Solly was and if we draft Hansen hell go to #21 ala Dean wallice as a defender

#3 for the first pick. I can see Gibbs, Gumby, or Hansen all in it.
#7 - I'd consider giving this to Lovett-Murray; I think he's earned a better number and he has a bit of Solomon in his game.
#9 - under no circumstances should this be given out
#22 - Let Ryder change from #30, as this seems to have become a ruckman's number in recent years
#23 (if freed) - 2nd round pick or perhaps offered to Lucy
#29 - mid-round pick
#30 - later pick
#35 - later pick
Wouldn't give Ryder 22, seems Cartledge failed to reach his potential, wouldn't try it with Ryder, no probs with 30

Our first pick will wear it and in a couple of years EVERYONE will be saying,"Geez that number 3 at the Bombers is a STAR!!!!!"..............:D
My young fella wears a number 3 on his bomber jumper (my number in my local team) now l can take him too watch the bombers without him crying about having to wear it:D ( well depends who gets it)

I doubt johns, He gave him no.21 becuase of Wallis, and the injury troubles he had early in his career, jsut like Johns has had.
Sheedy loves the symbolism when giving out numbers.
same with stanton and dyson, 24 & 2, they are both similar to the players who wore it before them.
there are pleanty more of them on our list.
so i tihnk sheedy will give it to someone who cant play, keep the tradition going, maybe bring back Daniel McCallister:p

I always have a good laugh at the '3' ad they show at the Dome at home games.
The voice over (I think it might even be Sheeds) going on about how the number '3' is a great tradition at Essendon, then they show King Richard, Fish, followed by Henno.
If we get Gibbs, give it to him.
Always makes me laugh too, it definately is Sheeds, always wonder what every other bomber fan is thinking when it shows Henno.
1st draft pick may get it, whoever it is, Gibbs would be damn nice, c'mon Carlton, Leuenberger is a GUN!
