He will NEVER be a keyposition player as he does not have the physical strength to go one on one.
Not to mention no footy brain. His decision making under pressure is shocking!
The doggies will not lose any sleep about giving him to the dees!

Firstly I never remember saying I was excited about Ellis... We needed another ready made defender who could play senior footy straight away, and we got it. If Nicho and Neitz where both playing back (they are our 2 best defenders) Ellis will be the third tall along with Bizzel and would take either a flank or the pocket.

In any case on Friday night he was playing as our number 1 tall(which he isn't), with Nicho not playing and Neitz in the forward line. You can't base his whole season on his first game where the whole team played crap.

Me? Excited about Ellis? NEVER!!
When I saw him at training I knew him and me won't get along. There is something about him I don't like BUT saying that, it doesn't mean he won't serve his puprose. Like others said, he is not our no.1 tall defender, but he was on Friday and yeah he sucked but if he has backup he can do better.... I hope! :(

Ellis is too much of a pretty boy. He walks around Sandy topless, his head stuck high up his arse, his fake tanned body covered with oil and well he shi ts me.
Yeah Woey is also a pretty boy but at least he is a fantastic player, so I guess it makes it ok! :p. But Ellis hasn't really proven to be any sort of a superstar so until proven good, he is bad! :p

Don't really mind Vardy and well Biz has a lot of potential and considering the fact that he helped get rid of Grgic..... well what can I say but? I LOVE YOU! :D

Give the guy a break. He was not the only bad player out there and it was his first game for us. He will get better and I still believe will be an asset. He will give the backline some much needed strength.

Damn Or, that's coming from you, a Robbo freak??? I wouldn't write this if I wasn't a little annoyed with the response Ellis gets. You guys must be far too one eyed to see the big picture. The guy is a steady, solid backman. He can play key position (has done all his career if u cared to watch!) and he is tough and strong. He is a great recruit for us and is keen to lead and do really well!

Just you all wait and see! I bet most of you (barring dees01) didn't know what number he wore with the Doggies!

Exactly!
I am sick to death of you girls always calling him a pretty boy. Most of the girls I know fancy him. Anyway give him a chance. He will be OK and just get off his back. I am sick of reading the same dribble over and over again.

And I believe he will be a good 2nd or third tall, rotating through CHB, FB, and HBF/BP, you have to give it time.

Dees01...thankyou for ur support as always, altho I will get into trouble about what I said. Even though I am right!

Deestroy.....I have all the time in the world for Ellis, I know how well he can play. I just think it stinks that he has to prove himself to everyone here, when if they took notice of him earlier, they would know how good he can play!! But, they didn't. they just went on him fighting with Neita at the end of last year, which is sad to tell u the truth!

He can be a pretty boy for all I care, but when he gets on the field he has to give 100% of himself, and on Friday night he was far from that. And yeah of course the guy is allowed to have a bad game, gees we all know it happens to our players pretty often! But from everything I have seen of him so far, I couldn't tale which he cares about more.... his looks or his footy!
Sure Woey is a pretty boy but I will never ever deny the fact that he works his arse off every week at training, and he has to be one of the most commited players in the AFL right now. So as long as when he is on the field he gives a good performance, I really couldn't give a crap what he is like off field.
So far all I've seen him do is bash people up, or run away from the ball... two options I rather not see on a footy ground. Saying that though, I'm positive he can and will get better! :) (oh god its so hard being nice! ;))

For you to make a judgement on him after one game is silly. There were more players than him on Friday night that did not look as though they were giving a 100%

Well, IMO he seems a a bit soft and his lack of a true footy brain is what lets him down. I dont think you can question his effort(he sometimes looked like he was trying too hard). He did look lost a couple of times and even tried jumping over his opponent who was trying to shepard at one time  :D

When Nicholson is out and he's forced to take on the oppositions strongest forward, I think he might struggle, but we recruited him as a 2nd tier defender and if Nicho/Nietz is down there to help him out, Im sure he'll find his way.

Weve gotta remember that this was his first hitout in a Melbourne jumper and it usually takes a while for new recruits to settle in.

I agree with that. While Ellis made a few mistakes, his endeavour was great, he really put in for four quarters back there, and the ball kept coming in all the time because we fell down across half forward again.

hahaha, thats funny cos when I first got to the game on Friday and took a look in the forward line I couldve sworn Grgic was playing!!

I saw the #4 and wondered WTF was going on :D. They look pretty similar from a distance.

Oh my god tell me about it. I nearly had a heart attack... coz from behind they are both fairly tall and have the short black hair and I was like WTF?? GRGIC??? Than I got screamed at for mentioning his name coz it's bad luck! :D
But well I'm sure he tried, he didn't succeed and while I won't hold that against him, I will hold the fact that he stopped trying after a while against him. He just stood there at times not doing much and I HATE THAT!! Like I said I don't like him so far, but things can change. I never really liked Broadbridge until about the last 3 or 4 games of last year and now I really like him... so I mean things are bound to change once he starts doing something good.
