Remember that the Pies had no forwards or defenders and Sydney had the preperation of a match against Essendon.

p.s. I know you'll probably abuse me for this saying I'm a sore loser and everything like that so don't bother!

Wouldn't it be Collingwood's responsibility to ensure they'd played enough practice matches to be ready?

Collingwood were very ordinary today. Had some good individual performances, but as a team, very shaky indeed. Eddie McEddie would want his boys to improve quite a lot before round 1.

Also remember that WE were not exactly fielding a full-strength premiership side either.

Amongst the missing: Nicks, Ball, Barry, Williams, Goodes, Warfe, O'Loughlin (all in or near the best 22), Doyle, Daffy, O'Keefe (who would have pushed for selection.

We also played Mott, Buchanan, Stevens, Swan, Ablett (yet to debut for the club) and Kennelly, Brockman, Ricky O'Loughlin (all with less than 10-20 games)

Lots of work to do, Pies. (plenty of turn-out today too, sounded more like a collingwood home-game sometimes)

Well done Desredandwhite.
Collingwood whingers keep listing the players they had missing, yet Sydney had just as many.
