Sorry Lady Lawrence. Instead maybe you can list all the unontracted players. Then we can dispell any rumours of an Adelaide boy who wants to come home.

:D Haha
That's one way of stopping a thread dead in it's tracks.
For AndrewJo: there is a thread somewhere on this board with a list of uncontracted players. Just do a search.

Oh my god, thats so subtle.
The way you bolded "wood", its almost as if you are referring to Cameron Wood.
You master of the sly hint!

"Brisbane is keen to develop Cameron Wood into the second ruckman beneath Jamie Charman, with 203-centimetre rookie Leonard Clark likely to be promoted to the senior list."

Yep, it's just speculation, albeit a well reasoned one.
We've always had 4 ruckmen under Leigh, so Lenny being promoted would be consistent with that. Also Shaun Rehn supposedly has a liking for Lenny, so the case for him to be promoted would be strengthened.

I haven't heard anything about Lenny, but my source within the club mentioned they were happy with Woody. I also know that Colm's debut game went down very very well (I was at the game, but also mentioned to my source how well I thought he had played).

Woody has looked very promising, and if things go well he'll be rucking with Charmo in tandem for the next 3-5 years. Just a matter of whether to keep Lenny Clark to provide depth to the ruck division. If good Qld ruck prospects slip through the National Draft, we'd be a chance to rookie list one of them too.
Colm will spend another year on the rookie list. He has already shown tremendous improvement this year, and has the potential to develop into a fast rebouding halfback with penetrating kick.

All I asked was whether he was contracted...not whether he was promising...or whether the Club was happy with him.

this is our board and we are interested in the opinion of fellow Brisbane Lions supporters, whether they answer your question or add to it.

I'm not sure on the status of Wood. Obviously would of at some point been out of contract since he was drafted in 2004 draft. My thought is that the Lions wouldn't have delisted Keating unless they were sure that Wood was going to continue playing for the Lions. I may be wrong...but any suggestion that he may want to 'go home' would be news to me.

I met Woody this year and I got the impression that he was proud to be a Brisbane Lions player. He was rather amused with the attention about his height.

Just made me think of something else Dan...We've always had trouble holding on to players at Brisbane (Lions or Bears). How important do you think players like Voss, Johnson, Lappin, Black, Scott etc are in keeping some of these young guys at the club? I think some of these blokes, who have played in multiple premierships, and become champions in the game are so important to influence the younger guys and convince them that they are at a great club.

From speaking to the younger players, I know for certain that the 'veterans' have an incredible influence. And I know that most of them know that they are playing for a great club. There was also some other stuff that was discussed that I don't wish to repeat here (as it is read by other club supporters).
There was one rookie I met whose first words to me was "I'm just a rookie". I said NO, you're not. You are the future of the team." He liked that.

Agreed. Nicely said.
Even though it's looking likely that Vossy will be gawn, I hope he can stay on. His importance to the team cannot be measured by the number of kicks or handballs alone.
As for AndrewJo's question, the simple answer is we don't know what his contractual status is, since the club usually doesn't speak about them. We could hazard a guess that since he was drafted in 2004, and most initial contracts are 2 years, that Woody's contract may be up.
As for whether we'll keep him, I'd confidently say yes. He's already shown good signs, and should become a very good ruckman for us. In cutting Keating the club has shown that it wants to further develop rucking talent, so I'd be very surprised if Woody doesn't stay with us - it'd completely go against everything we've done regarding our ruckmen stocks.

Exactly. I would have thought the response that Wood is performing well, thus indicating that the Lions would be keen to hold on to him, is answering AndrewJo's question as best as one can.
