Ok seeing its near the off season, Hawthorns season is over and there isnt much to talk about besides trades and delistings so I thought lets play a game.

I got the idea from the ESPN t.v show Sportscentre and ill explain how it goes.

I will post a question at this end of the thread for example, Will Richmond make the 8 next season? and the next to reply will either answer the question as Fact, or Fiction and can give a brief explanation if they want. And after their answer they will leave a question for the next poster to either answer fact or fiction to, and theyll leave a question and so on....

So ill start it off.

Fiction: I doubt strongly that there is anything more to the Tassie deal. As he said we have just moved to Waverly and have arguably the best facilities in the country. That gets ignored a little when talking about us and Tassie, the fact we have just committed to the eastern suburbs. However we may not get 11 MCG games. 9 or 10 may be more realistic.

Fact: Mitchell is very under-rated

Question: Will Dowler be able to make an impact on the hawks next yr (say 20+ goals)

Question: Can Crawf be able to pass C.Langford (303 games), K. Moore (300) , D. Scott (302) in the next two years as he is curremtly on 268 games.

Question: will there ever be another player with peter hudsons's goals per game average when the game has much more defensive tactics then before and is turning into "80 goals coleman winner" league

Fact: Absolutely if his last few games are anything to go by (I nearly reached the point of full enjoyment when he kicked that goal against Geelong).

Fact: Get a photo of him after a date with Twigley. If that doesn't get him to smile then nothing will. ;)

How true, very attractive young lady.

Fact or Fiction: Who will have a more impressive 2007 out of Muston, Ellis, Dowler or Murphy?

I suppose the money should be on Murphy as he has games under the belt and should benefit from that, but hopefully all of them will. Whoever it is, it should be exciting times. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Fact or Fiction: Who (can be more than one) out of our young players will be the out and out star of the team, when we hopefully reach our potential? Example - Langers, look how he became such an important part of our team when he had such humble beginnings.

FACT??? haha, With Key Postion players taking longer to develop this rules out Dowler. And im guessing Muston will have to find his feet in Box Hill for a while. It is either out of Ellis and Murphy. I am going with Ellis, he will be giving us great run off the back half in 07!!!

FACT - With Thornton included we are starting to see the foundations of a solid defensive unit and have already seen glimpses of a forward line that could be anything if the potential is fulfilled.

Question - Do we need to find a ready made full forward in next weeks trade period ie. Daniel Bradshaw while our young key forwards develope?

FICTION: You don't want to overload on key forwards, and you'd have to give up to much.

Fact: Muston doesnt have any real expectations from fans. And Dowler didnt have expectations in 06, but the expectations will grow in 07. I think everyone has high expectations for Roughie next year, so for his sake, hope he starts dominating up forward.

Fact: Carlton and St Kilda might both make a bid for him, but at the end of the day, Alistair Clarkson is too wise to leave the back-up Ruckman duty purely to a 19 year old.

Fact: Simon Taylor is going to stay at the hawks, as no other club rate him. No club rated freos Aaron sandilands a few seasons ago and now he is a wanted man!

Fact or fiction: is clarkson as smart as philhawk thinks?

He reckons clarko wouldn't be silly enough to leave back up ruckman job to a 19 year old, but the way i see it clarko went into season 2006 with two juniors in mind for the important postion of full back.

Buddylicious

Fact: Yes, Clarkson is smart(i hope)...perhaps if we don't pick up another ruckman and bob, max or tails were to go down next year i think we may have seen a bit of a hint towards the end of last season that roughie can be used as a pinch-hitter in the ruck. I know we want him to be a KPP and i have no doubt he will develop into that, but with his basketball upbringing and height i have no doubt if needed he could easily provide some relief work in the middle.

fiction: i think we will get something for spida, now with a few more teams entering the race to get him, however it may not be as good of a pick as everyone is hoping for

f or f: will roughead turn out to be the player everyone is hoping he will be, out of him, buddy and lewis he seems to be making the least amount of ground.

(i asume you mean compare roughy to buddy & Taz's preformance) Roughy will be a awesome player @ FF, not the chf/ruckman some tent to make him out to be. He seems to lack aerobic ability and ball handling skills below the knees, then again ive been known to be worng before.

Fact: Yes we will...i reckon we will storm out of the blocks next year and will peak at about round 13. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up like Melbourne have the last couple of years and after a great start fade away towards the end to just scrape in.

F or F: After our last couple of years is there a possibility that it is going to take an amount of time for our players to learn how to win on a consistent basis? An example is how West Coast constantly managed to get out of jail throughout the year.

Fact: I think next year we will continue to improve but I can see us having a run of multiple wins like this season, so we will have a group of wins then a groups of losses. But this will change as the young guys begin to take control of their positions!

Fiction: No. If Tarrant was thinking of getting away from the pressure of playing for Collingwood he can forget it, this guy can count on the media in the West placing the same if not more pressure on this guy to perform. Expect the breakdown to start around round 8. He might even re-live his hiatus back to his hometown '02 style.

I don't think he will have any problems with the dogs but his continual grudge with Leigh Matthews and the Brisbane Lions will see him be frowned upon by Members, Coaches, Officials, And Players of the Western Bulldogs.
