i loved it! problem is, i can see the show getting worse.

the only thing i saw wrong with it was the lack of chaos.

Slow start I thought, hopefully will pick up, or go round in circles like Lost

I liked it. Not a bad episode to start the show off with. Hopefuly it doesn't drop-down-dead.

It reminded me how "Surface" started out, so I will give it a week or two.

Why bother watching....in two weeks time Jericho will have moved to it's "Special" new time of 9.30pm Wednesday....then to 11.30pm Monday nights...then to oblivion....

Surface didn't, if people watch it, then it will stay in the same time slot.

Going by the pilot, people won't be watching it.

I lost count of the cliches...the father / prodigal son conflict....the bus full of kids saved by the prodigal son....the overturned jail bus....the mayor rallying the troop with his good ol' yankee talking....

For some reason, I was expecting a lot better.

If this is the sort of show people want to see, then show a rerun of Threads FFS!

I was bored with it to be honest. I can't imagine it getting any better

Interesting that 10 screened it within 24hrs of the US, I guess they're being proactive to head off the torrents. Assuming people would be interested enough to download it in the first place, didn't interest me enough to watch, let alone download. It sounded to me a bit like a show from a couple of years back, called 'Jeremiah,' with Luke Perry from 90210.

I reckon it was a good start. Anyone who was growing up in the 80's or earlier would remember we were all s..t frightened of nuclear war.

I think it captured the feelings you may have pretty well when people spotted the mushroom cloud. It was done pretty well, you didn't see an explosion, just the cloud rising in the air. Pretty eery.

Reminded me a little of the 80's film "The Day After", just more subtle. At least the part where people realised what was going on.

Anyway, look forward to seeing how this one pans out. Hopefully it doesn't go backwards after a promising start.

What was wrong with Jeremiah? I loved that show, just a shame they put it on at midnight, I had to tape it, way to kill off a series.

Wasn't having a crack, just didn't interest me. Watched it a few times, but you know... moved on.

It was far too sugary and sweet for my liking. Hopefully they stop the Mayor's "god bless America"-type rants and build the characters more. It has potential to be good but will depend on character development from hereon in.

dont think the i love usa thing will change. in fact, it could get worse. the nuclear explosions will soon occur all over the globe and only american ppl will know how to stop it :D

oh and more riots are needed. i mean ive never seen such calmness after a potention major catastrophie. they need to look at footage of hurricane/cyclone/willy-willy katrina.

It was ok. The concept is interesting, if not very original. The problem is that the characters are average to boring. The pilot spent most of the time introducing Skeet Ulrich and his varing relationships. The problem is that Skeet hasn't really got the charisma needed to carry a show. I'm sure he could play the dark mysterious stranger character down to a tee but give him a character with emotional issues to deal with and he'll probably fall flat on his face.

I hope I'm wrong but that's just my view.

The best new show on this week was ROME. A really great pilot with interesting chracters and a great story that pretty much writes itself.

Yep, one nuke being smuggled into America and set off would be practically impossible let alone enough bombs to take out enough American cities to isolate this town from the rest of America.

And if it was ICBMs you'd think the Americans would probably notice before they hit.

It doesn't look good.

Only hope is that the bad prison folk from the second bus rape and sodomise the town in Ep2, and then the fallout kills the rest in Ep3.

Good riddance.

I was expecting something very unique but instead I got a sweet as sugar cliche'd piece of absolutely average television.

It wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything special.

Threads is my favourite TV show ever. I can't believe my parents let me stay up to watch that when I was in primary school. I had nightmares about a nuclear missile bursting through my bedroom wall for months.

I found a copy in Blockbuster in Moonee Ponds a few years back, it might still be there Threads fans. It's still as powerful as it was 20 years ago.

That film did more for CND in Britain than 20 years of marches & protests.

Looked very much like it.

Remember in The Day After (assuming it's factual) that there were plenty of ICBM's being launched from Kansas. Think they have some important missile silos there and it looked like they weren't launched far from Jericho.

It's gotten really good in the last 2 weeks, i'm hooked now. I wanted to see what was going to said when we saw the podium and those rockets at end, were the US fireing nuke's back or what?

Yeah, defiently improved - getting better and better and with several 'Lost' style twists/questions and cliffhangers looks like it could last a while.
