Okay, here is my review on Friday nights game against the Saints.
I am sure we all agree that we did not play very well, and I can see everyone enjoys making a note of that. However, I would like to point out some positives for you all that you may have neglected!
1. Travis Johnstone - You probably would not have neglected this, but I am gonna point it out anyway. The guy was easily our BOG, got plenty of quality possies and showed the form we have been waiting to see ever since we drafted him. No injuries and a good pre-season will help him give us that "magic" in the centre of the ground that we require!
2. Ellis and Bizzell - Some of you hate Ellis (Or esp.). For what reason I will never understand. Early in his career he was a great backman who will benefit the team greatly. Made one or two mistakes, but was very enthusiastic to do well for the team. Better than having none at all. Biz played real well on Hamill, keeping him in check for most of the night and really working hard. I like him forward more though, but he did well down back.
3. White - In form and injury free. All Aussie ruckman 2002!
Our backline looked good, it was just the fact we feel down across half forward and our midfield was crap, so the ball kept going into their forward half all the time.
Now, the bad things.....
Neitz sucked, Robbo sucked, Woewodin sucked, Yze was poor, Bruce and Green didn't do much and we missed Ox, Nicho and others. We don't get enough outta Neitz, Robbo is too inconsistent (he could be a superstar if he wanted) and Woey was nowhere to be seen.
All in all, we can't get to discouraged. After all it is our first game with some important players missing (Saints were pretty much full strength.)
We can only imporve from here!
CFH.

Agree with what you have said. I agree Ellis didn't play that badly, and I'm certainly not one of the Ellis haters :D
I hope some of the younger players get their chance this week, as well as giving other players a chance to run into some form.
Good thing this weeks game is live on TV, I would be very annoyed (to say the least) if it wasn't.
I'm actually gonna sit down & watch this match now on Foxtel, I'll offer my thoughts once i've seen it.

Well, I am a sweet person!! :D
And seriously, I cannot understand why Ellis pisses you off. If you can give me a real reason why and not this crap about tans and looks, then maybe I can understand you. For once! ;)

Well there is no point in me explaining coz there is no chance of you EVER understanding me! :p
There are a lot of reasons why I don't like him actually.... I can't explain most of them, but I just don't like his attitude. In training he always walks around like he is top sh$t, which would be fine if he actually proved himself right on field... but so far he hasn't! I wanna see him perform, and perform well. And I know its unfair to judge him from one game so I won't.... I'll wait till Saturday morning! :p

Your gonna have to do better than that. He might do that at training, but unlike like many others (including Robbo!), he gave 100% and a little bit more last Friday!

If thats his 100% than we should be very concerned. I didn't enjoy his performance on Friday, I don't like the way he acts on the training track and like I said, until he proves himself I got every right to think he is a crap player.
And yeah I agree Robbo played like sh%t, and he didn't give his all and neither did most of them and that could be way we never got the ball!

Or, I have seen this guy play from waaaaaaaaaay back in the early-mid nineties, where as you haven't. Same with the others. They know how he can play, and it's very bloody good. Just you wait and see.

I already said I'll wait... but until he proves himself he is still "tan boy"! :p

Then that can apply to players like Robbo, no offence. While promising alot and people cranking him up to be great, he has kicked a couple of bags and taken some good marks. He is, therefore, a "pretty boy" until he proves other wise!:D :D :p ;)

Oh yeah of course Robbo is a pretty boy.... gees do you know how long it takes him to get out of the damn change rooms? I bet it takes him longer to get ready than it takes me!!!
HOWEVER, he has done a lot of good for the team, won us a few games and 92% of the time he contributes something.... a goal or a good mark etc.... and well I'm not gonna go into the whole personality things coz lets face it none of you care.... But bascially what I'm saying is that well..... He is not Ellis, he always gives his all even if sometimes he doesn't succeed! ;) :p
