Solomon was brilliant and looked much quicker. He looked like he had less muscle. maybe thats the key for him over pre-season? losing that extra muscle and getting that bit of pace back.

The 2001 Prelim for Hawthorn was nothing near the loss of the 1999 Prelim for us.

Ohhh no. Unlucky.

I remmember that crucial play where Wally had the ball running through the middle trying to burst through into the 50 and got caught.

The miss i remember most was in the 1996 Qaulifying Final when Gavin Wanganeen hit the post from the goalsquare, that was painful until we were lucky enough to get a home final vs West Coast the next week.

You either stupid or sarcastic...we were controlling the game all over the ground, just wern't converting enough....

Does that make sense....Im sure that was pretty obvious....unless you really are stupid....

You did well the week after...nice one....

Sarcastic but thanks for the option. At least we made it to the GF and gave ourself a chance, we weren't good enough but at least we know because we got there. You ever wondered what might have been ? I guess you'll never know.

Only to lose by 1 point against Sydney a week later. It was a painful series.

I too remember Wanganeen's miss. I cried about both the losses.

Che, non understand. Atleast we can throw decent punches, bombers always start fights they seldom win...Even when the hawks are crap we can still beat you up.

Steven Greene. What could have been, super talent..

Still find it baffling that a team of what was butter boys got even close to us.

This was the same rubbish that gave rock bottom fremantle their first win of the season and lost to St Kilda in the last round aswell.

They got lucky though with the injuries we copped dring the game and lloyd headbutting gasper in the quater final.

As I recall John Barker, who was having a stellar year was injured in the 1st quarter, and so was Ben Dixon, who came back but played injured...So much for your got lucky with injuries angle.

No offence but Mercuri, Hird, Lloyd are better than Barker and Dixon ever were.

Hird was towelled up by Hay. Possibly the biggest towelling ive seen in a fianls game..

Barker was robbed of an AA jersey that year too..

Hird was playing as a decoy becuase he was obviously injured. A fully fit Hird wouldv'e torn Hay to shreds.

Are you say Dixon and Barker were as valuable as Hird, Lloyd and Mercuri were? :o

kolchak
24 Sep 2006, 17:52
Barker could have been AA that year and Mecuri was allready past it, Long was just an old man, when converting goals cost us, having injured goal kickers had more inpact, the only big out you had was Lloyd (which was a big loss). So again you angle does not make much sense, hence, che non understand.

You mean the AA FB, okay Hird is a great player, but no doubt an AA FB would have had no chance...

they should have drawn a line in the sand.. taken those umpires down... (then watch the umpires come out and thump them after half time)

Is it a challenge king-hitting someone from behind while he runs to the sideline?

You call that a king hit? Nothing compared to Johnson's king hit!!!

Would you happen to be related to anyone by the name of Shiva?? We could sit here and moan about losing 3 finals matches by less than a point, but in the end....history shows the result didnt go our way. Incidently, Hawthorn are in worse shape on the field personnel wise than we are. You and your fellow supporters have much more to be concerned about than a result 5 years ago.
