View Full Version : Crow's Prelim chokes - 1993 v 2006

Which was the bigger choke? The prelim final against Essendon in 93, where at half time the Crows were 7 goals up, but managed to freeze in the second half and get demolished.
Or todays effort, against the Eagles. Up by four goals at half time, playing at home after a weeks rest, the Crows once again found a way to lose.
Personally I rate today as a slightly bigger choke.
* I didn't include last years semi final loss to St Kilda, because I'm only talking about prelims.

1993 was still massive! that was the mother of all chokes to be honest, but 2006 is up there as well :)
4 goals at half time in a game where the winning team only scored 11 goals is pretty bad but then again being up by 7 goals at half time and lose is bad.

93 they were forced to play here in Melbourne so you can't really call that a choke. This year however :rolleyes:
Well, they lost a Prelim to Collingwood in 2002.
On BF, wouldn't that be considered the ultimate choke?

I've had enough partying for today... went and watched the game at my local. Great experience that was, given that I was one of maybe three people supporting West Coast.
As for tonight I'm going to kick back and do a little work, that is when I stop having fun on Bigfooty. Have a nice night on the town, loser. Don't forget to pack your excuses.

No comparison. Think my favourite memory of the game is errupting with the other thousands of Essendon fans on the wing when Timmy slotted the winner. My favourite memory of the replay? Graham Cornes shaking his head in disbelief. Classic.
