View Full Version : Another Prelim - Another Choke

Today's Prelim final today was another major self-destruction by the Camry Chokers.
It had glimpses of 1993 when they were up by 43 points in the 3rd quarter yet to be beaten again after being in control.
Today was far worse in my opinion, playing at home with 7 days more rest than the opposition. Two guns in Burton and Mcleod bolstering up the side. How could they lose???
They are the Adelaide Crows!
Prelim final after prelim final, they are destined to lose.
1997 and 1998 were just abberations, the Western Bulldogs would still be kicking themselves losing Prelims to these Chokers.
The other Prelims they lost were last year after finishing top and losing a first final at home once again and then losing to the side they beat for the minor Premier a few weeks prior.
2002, well where do I start. They were a clear 2nd at Rd 20 bowed out in the Prelim to Collingwood.
I hope for Adelaide's sake that the AFL revert back to the old Finals system as back in 97 & 98 so they can jag a Grand Final berth because when there's multiple chances for the top 4 and pressure gets involved they seem to self destruct. I'd be getting onto the Messenger Print services Crows fans and getting some of those 'Miracles do happen 97 & 98 Back to Back' Stickers because the ones I seen on cars at Footy Park today on cars were so faded all I could see was white stickers with touches of pink, lilac and creme yellow.
Also was very disturbed today to see the arguing, the blaming of umpires and the general bad sportmanship displayed by the Crows fans today. It was a massive moodswing from everyone being so jovial at half time and talking about how you are getting to Melbourne for next weeks Grand Final.

:D

Also Springchoke, we know you are a massive Crows fan and probably still on the express bus on your way home but it would be a delight to hear from you.
Also sorry for being so naive over the years and not understanding the full extent of your name but today gave me all the answers. :D

Where were your fans in Rd 22 when the wheels started falling off?

Rd 22 Just over 30k when it was 2nd vs 4th.
The last two top 4 clashes in Rd 22 were West Coast vs Adel at Subi, sold out.
Port vs Brisbane 2002 sold out.
The Crows are the worst bandwagon supporters in the league, after the Showdon in Rd 21 this year your mob were ringing up radio blaming Neil Craigs Fitness tapering and how it has ended your season, suddenly you knock up two wins get a Prelim and everyone is back on board.
Lose to West Coast at Home today and for 3 hours after the game your fans are ringing up radio saying you've had enough etc
I don't care if we only manage 2 thirds of your crowd, at least our fans stick with the club week in week out whoever/whatever we are up against.

I was there as a neutral supporter and I must say there were no problems and I don't think I heard a swear word muttered where I was. Big difference to the neanderthals I've encountered at port games.

Maybe the have lives outside of Bigfooty unlike some port fans.....it is Saturday night after all, did you ever consider that? Not everyone spends hours on end on BF.

As for the game today. call it a choke, call it what ever. Fact is we lost to a better team. And from what I could see there were still at least 40,000 people there to cheer our boys off the ground at the end. I thought that was great, and as for all the people ringing up MMM and asking if Neil Craig 'has it' and another old bag whingeing about how the players didnt wave to the crowd when they went off (I was there and if they werent clapping or waving, I dunno what you would call it...). We do not need negative people like them. They just played hard and lost a prelim by under 2 goals! Give us a break. :thumbsd:

Nothing wrong with giving some of the crap we coped back. Hows that makes us mentally challenged?
