Adelaide have stated that they will actively campaign to lure Gibbs back (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,20461628%255E19742,00.html) to South Australia when his two years is up if he is drafted interstate.

This increases the chances that Carlton, Essendon and North may be a bit nervous about picking him up with other very good players to choose from, and it opens up the door for him being available when it's our pick.

Now if we could pick anyone from the draft that we wanted Gibbs (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4662912&postcount=3) to me seems a standout. If Leigh wants runners, then Gibbs is the man, because he certainly knows how to find the footy and has a lot of things going for him.

On the other hand if he left after 2 years we may get compensated in a trade but you would think that ultimately we would lose out, this year being a super draft and all.

What would you do?

I think Adelaid can moan all they like, but it's not likely to happen, unless Gibbs has already shown "home state patriotism" similar to that of Des Headland.

He will go at number 1 surely. He would be considered an absolute dog if he decided to play with Carlton for 2 years and then walk for nothing.

Adelaide would probably have to finish last anyway in 2008 to get him for free, so if he wanted to go back you would think the crows would have to pay through the nose to get him. Also, isn't he a north supporter? If somehow he slipped to 3, they would pick him up in a tacycardiac patient's heartbeat.

Do I have anyone else for the bandwagon? It's been a bit lonely on here by myself!

I'd be very happy to have Gibbs, but we have no chance unless we trade our way up to a top 2 pick.

Won't be available, pointless discussing it. ;)

All this talk has come from the AFC and Gibbs' old man. Bryce Gibbs has been quoted as saying that although he would like to stay in SA, he's be happy to go anywhere to play AFL, even Tasmania.
