It's amazing what happens when the captaincy is lifted off peoples heads, they blossom.

Mr McManus has had the captaincy position removed and he seems to be playing better, admittedly he made some errors (out of bounds and running to far), but that is due to enthusiasm.

I think he will have a far better season and start to fullfill the promise he had as a youngster.

Masai if people get off his back and stop booing him then I am sure he will have a good season. At least he is one player over all the years who has given at least 100% every time he steps onto the oval.I still think he should be given the V/C job.

anchor man - totally agree, I made that same point a few months ago. Freo supporters need to give him a break.

Agreed...
I think Macca will develop new leadership qaulities (or improve on existing ones) now that he is not the appointed team leader.

I thought he played well against the doggies... he did have a couple of errors that masai mentioned but his running through the lines was good and that kick to J.Lo in the third on the run from the centre was as penetrating a kick as i have ever soon him unload.

Make no mistake the fella can play all he needs is to not try sao hard.He does at times try to overdo it,but he will be a big improver this year. That is not to say I thought he had a bad year last year.

He has a high work rate and now he has the burden of leadership lifted my go up a notch, should have a good year.
