Ok, so you think Port choked in 2002 and 2003 losing two Prelims and now the crows have also lost two Prelims 2005 and 2006 (1 at home mind you)
But guess what crow fans, for us it was 3rd time lucky

Whatever Crows do up to finals means Jack **** now. The pressure next year on the poor Crowies will be immense. If this year wasn't their last chance the next year definately is.

This year was Adelaide's year. They were the most dominate team all year (up until the last 5 rounds anyway) and they were once labelled 'unbeatable' this season.
Just like last year, THEY CHOKED!
Ahhh the old 'rubbin it in the cross-town rivals faces' routine.

Old BUT.. How many in Career Best form? Macca.. Probably career best form, Burton Career best form, Edwards, Probably Career best form, Goodwin, Career best form, Bassett, Career best form. Roo is still donig ver well as a forward... He's not going to go downhill yet and probably never will like what champions always do. Only hart and Clarke are not in career best form. And Biglands. Hart and Clarke are gonig to retire, but that opens the door for Other players to step in including Massie/ Torney etc. Clarke will get coverd by Meesen, Maric or Hudson.
We will still be up there next year IMO but 2008 might be a rebuilding year.

Amazing, you must be the first one who has no idea about your own clubs history.
This is just speculation, of course. Nine months later, however, the club made a move that effectively split South Australian football asunder when it formally applied to field a team in the Australian Football League from 1991. Such a move was in direct defiance of the declared stance of the SANFL, which did not consider that the time was yet right for a South Australian team to enter the AFL. The key word here is 'yet', as there was a tacit admission by the SANFL that there would ultimately come a point when the interests of football in the state would indeed be best served by involvement in the quasi-national competition which was evolving out of the old, suburban VFL. Port Adelaide's actions, however, effectively forced the SANFL's hand; consequently, in a quick fire but nevertheless carefully calculated response, it applied to field a team of its own in the AFL. Ultimately, after a modicum of apparent procrastination, it was the SANFL's bid which was accepted, and so the Adelaide Crows were born.
