View Full Version : I think Jaymie Graham might get dropped...no real match up for him
Horses for courses..theres no real match up for him....Glass Jones Hunter get the talls...and only Hall is a tall and he's a leading tall..oloughlin is a leading player also...
Wirra will come in, I just dont think theres a real match up for him, Hansen is a rock at CHF...
the guys that woirry me are Davis Schneider O'keef.....I doubt Graham could play on any of them....Graham hasnt spent much time fwd.....so again you wouldnt want that in a GF..
I have talked myself into it...I dont think he'll play

Who did Graham play on last time we played Sydney?
Who did Graham play on last time we played Sydney?
good question?? I know he didnt have a huge game....10 touches 2 marks...
I just can think of a player he could really play one on one...maybe they might give him a chance on Hall and put Glass on O'loughlin...let Hall kick 5 and shut O'loughlin right out of it (scary option though)...if Glass played on O'loughlin he would get a sniff.....I watched galss on the smaller burton and he destroyed him
What about Seaby. 3 Hitouts last week

If Seaby doesn't play Graham will, otherwise not sure who he matches up on, maybe he could go foward and stretch their defense.

hang on a second..seabys job is simple....Cox will go as hard as he can and run himself ragged...come off the Seaby just has to compete for 5 or 6 mins and hold his own cox.....(:D :D :D )...sorry had to do it..
he only played 40 mins last week, his job is to allow cox some rest...as it gets warn out :D :D ....sorry with an name like cox how can you not laugh.....
I hope that makes sense
Sven my man, I dont think Wirra will come up.
Just a gut feeling. :thumbsu:

Wirra will get up, provided he trains well tomorrow. I think Graham could play on O'Keefe if Hunter goes forward. I believe Graham played on O'Loughlan last time and Woosha will have learnt from his so-called coaching 'mistakes'....

IMHO it would be a huge mistake if Graham was left out. I would double team Hall with Graham & Glass, he is also back up for an injury a tall may have (Hansen) so he could very well be a trump card in the forward line.
It won't happen:)

the backline match ups MUST be : glass- hall, bones- okeefe, chick- o'loughlin. with chicky having a quiet grand final last year, i think he will b extremely determined 2 put in a blinder, n if he is told early this week he is on o'loughin, he can think about his job ahaead. quite simple; chick keeps o'loughin to 1 goal, chick is one of the best on ground.
also, wat are peoples thoughts about if wirra doesnt get up? should they consider bringin nicoski back as the running rebound player off half back at the expense of mayb a graham or armstrong (really dnt wana c banners dropped)???

Seaby will play.
Does anyone remember the game against Sydney? The absence of Seaby screwed our structure because Graham and Lynch were belted in the ruck everytime Cox was out there. Seaby will at the very least break even in the ruck.
We need to keep Lynch as a permanent forward.
Graham will probably also play, particularly if we want to play Hunter forward for much of the match. There will need to be a match-up if they switch Goodes or Ted Richards forward.
I think we would be playing with fire to drop either of them.
Banfield or Armstrong to make way for Wirra depending on where they will play him is the only change I'd make.

yeah i agree with this... it seems to make the most sense - though with the sentimentality of banners possibly playing his last game, i think maybe army will be the most likely casualty - though imo i would drop banners instead - but put yourself in woosha and co's postion, that would be a brutal call to make...

graham is needed when hunter goes forward.
Bingo.
Hall on Glass, Brett Jones or Hunter on O'Loughlin. If Roos sends just one of Doyle, Jolly, Richards or Goodes forward we immediately need 3 tall defenders.
No Graham means Hunter is that man and can't be free to play forward.
If Wirra comes in Army, Banners or Seaby will go.

if it is true, then it means we will go in unchanged i would say, which might be a blessing in disguise...

I would mix it up a bit and try Glass - Micky O, Graham - Hall, Bones - O'Keefe
However, its all unproven so quite unlikely.
Graham will certainly play though
Graham played on Hall for a bit in the QF (when Glass was injured) and got easily beaten - Hall kicked at least one goal in the short amount of time he was on him - I wouldnt suggesting trying that again.

I want Glass to play on Hall every minute and clearly show why he's AA fullback.
...and up the other end, I want Lynch to win the Norm Smith 'cause that'll mean he's kicked about 8 and if he does that I'm sure we would have won. :D
He needs to play need a backup to play Hall and O'Loughlin.

For me, play glass on hall and bones on o'loughlin. If i recall right, when bones was on o'loughlin in the QF, he only had one kicked on him and it was when banners spoiled it to him while bones was doing what he should be, playing in front and attacking the incoming ball.
As wierd as it sounds for me to say, id leave wirrpunda out, even if he was fit. Banners was servicable last week and if we drop armstrong, we lose tons of forward pressure. I would go in unchanged.

Graham will be important if the Swans drop one of their ruckmen (Doyle most probably) into the forward line at times during the game.
Ideally Graham would be perfect to play the role of the loose defender, of which we don't play.

I think if we grab a late lead you will see us flood like no team has ever done.
That is, of course except Sydney. :thumbsu:
