Dean Cox
Philip Read
Chad Cornes
Kane Cornes
Shaun Burgoyne
Ben Cousins
Daniel Kerr

Would you guys draft Thornton (Car) in the psd if available?
I think this may eventuate for you as I belive the blues should play absolute hardball if he wants to become a hawk and demand pick 6 or the psd it is for him.
Cheers

Depending on what else is available, yeah i reckon we would have a serious look at him. I think he would fit in well, he could play as a 3rd tall, even a CHB which could free up Kepler Bradley to play on the wing and on the ball.
A possible trade could involve a straight swap; Laycock for Thornton.

yeah i want thornton but it seems like he is destined for the hawks. I also want polak, im getting scared that this year is going to be like the last few years and we wil ge another campo and think this is good enough. I thought we said we were going for a young up and comer that hadn't been utilised at another club and we had plenty of cash yet we dont seem tobe in the running for thornton and we went for akermanis?????????????

Don't be put off us getting Thornton, by the talk in the papers.
IF we feel he is right for us, we are in a far better position to get him than Hawthorn.
If it's PSD then hes ours and if its trades we have earlier picks and Laycock, who i think Carlton would go for, with their current ruck situation.
For me the only way the Hawks will get him, is if we don't want him.
Sheedy will not show his hand until it is required he does so

yeah im not so sure, past performance isnt giving me much confidence. Even Timmy Watson said essendon had become known as club that left things to the last minute which was pi**ing other clubs off, Tim was pleasantly surprised when last year we traded Richards to Sydney very quick.

Just heard on the Radio that JJ's not happy with the 1-year deal offered to him and that Melbourne would be interested in offering a 2-year deal.
If this were to happen, what would be a suitable trade?
eg. JJ for Bruce and McLean.

I generally don't read the paper because half the things they say are rubbish. I'm pretty sure he's trying to get the right deal at Carlton atm.

Forget about Thornton. It's NOT going to happen.
If he was to leave, it would only be for a 3 year deal.
I seriously can't see us offering him 3 years after only offering;
JJ - 1 year.
Lucas - 2 years.
We should try and get another pick in the top 10.
If the coachless saints can convince themselves that they really need a ruckman for a shot at a flag, perhaps Laycock and a later pick for their pick 9 would set us (and them) up.
This is only applicable if Laycock wants to leave for more $$$.
Pick #2 - Hansen
Pick #9 - Proud
Yeah Baby!!!!!!!

oh yeah great then we get an injury to hille and who are we left with, ryder??? who does more staring at the ball being kickedover his head then actually demanding the ball to come to him.

There is a big difference in those 2 players you mentioned and Thornton.
He is only 22.

Haha!!! JJ for Bruce and McLean... he wouldn't be worth one of those players, let alone both. Don't think we would give up too much for him, given his age and the season he had. Best offer you would receive, would be something like Wheatley and a 3rd round pick, or a 2nd round pick. You are dreaming if you think we would give up Jones for Johnson.

You're underselling JJ, and we are over selling, so it will probaly somewhere in the middle. Maybe a middle teir player and a 2nd round pick.... Of course it depends on which other teams are interested and i think many teams would be interested. He would suit melbourne mind you, as he plays hard, and melbourne could use that.
