"Seeing things happen where players put themselves before what the team needs in big games, we know during the season as soon as we see something, (coach) Leigh (Matthews) knocks it on the head. He exposes it and says this is why you can't do this, let's not do it . . . the team needs us not to do it,"

If xplo isn't right, I'll say Hart or Lynch.

It was Harty. Full item here. (http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/realfooty/articles/2004/09/30/1096527863572.html?from=storyrhs) Good to read such a well respected players retirement words. Food for thought in the present climate.

Jackassmanis?

I don't think it would have been Jackassmanis, the title said RESPECTED.

I thought John might have been being ironic ;)

When I read the quote my first thought was that it was an Aker quote that John had found from somewhere and posted to indicate hypocrisy on JA's part ..... but when I saw the title I knew that was wrong as there have been one or two indications (you have to look hard for them as they are very subtle and hidden over many threads and boards:p) that John no longer considers the gentleman as 'respected'

Good quote 'though and have always respected him and his attitude and loved the way he played!
