View Full Version : Rookies to get a run next game...

I read in the Herald Today that Daniher WILL play some of the rookies for this game and the following one in the pre-season cup. And about bloody time too.
Mark Jamar WILL play. Jolly is unavailable, has his sisters wedding to attend. I am eager to see how this guy goes.
Steve Armstrong, Luke Molan and Brad Miller are Highly likely to play, with Armstrong the most likely. This brought a smile to my face! :D
Two things also - as we saw, Neita got suspended and Daniher said Ox won't play this game, so what sort of forward line are we gonna have?? And Clark was not mentioned in being included in the squad. Damn, what a shame!!:D :D :D
CFH.
No Clark?

I know, I nearly dropped the Big Mac I was eating. I also nearly shed a tear, but I'm a man so I didn't.
Well, all we have to do is hope our midfielders step up and kick a few and a few of our other forwards show some of the promise they did in 2000. Of course, that's about as useful as saying "We need to kick a bigger score than them."

The only midfielders who look like kicking goals are Yze and on the odd occasion when he get's the footy, Woewodin. Plus Powell can do it, but he's still a little way off.
They just need to get it IN our Forward line for this game.

Especially if we play Lamb. I hate that guy. He is one of the worst players we have on our list.

Well to all your brilliant men out there.... I would like to remind you that Clarky is NOT a rookie, just like Lamb and Jolly are not rookies, neither is Clarky. He is on our senior list now....
And well seeing as though we are missing Febes in the midfield and Neita in the forward line, there is a chance they might let Clarky play coz he can play both position (he can also play in defence... very multi talented :D).
Anyways I'm looking forward to seeing Armstrong play and if Luke Molan is who I think he is than OH MY GOD am I looking forward to seeing him play! :o :D

Rookie, Senior List, Becnh Warmer, it's all the same with those guys you mentioned. Jolly is good, Lamb and Clark suck ass.
Plus, I would like to point out that even if Clark plays pre-season, it doesn't count. He has to play in the AFL season to have actually played any real games for the Dees.........and he has as good a chance as a snowball in hell of doing that! :D

dunno about CFH, but yeah, i've seen him play... he's nothing anything AMAZING, but he wasn't too bad. then again - that was in a 2nd's match, so he was against 2nd level players. dunno how he'll go in a senior game... but i just hope its no where near as bad as lamb was!!! geez he sucks!!

from what we've seen at training he's looking REALLY good. he's skills might still need a little time to develope (maybe another few months training as a senior) but he's really pretty good

Well looks like I'm THE ONLY person who has actually seen him play with Sandy. Whenever they have a Sandy game on ABC I always try and watch and well I can tell you that I have seen Clakry play a dozen times and he has been great. Late last season he has about 4 B.O.G performances and he has been very impressive. I'm not saying he is a brownlow medalist but he is a very good player, he has good speed and he has guts and well I like that about players. He is also very handy because I've seen him play in the midfield and push to CHB and CHF so he can always be useful.
I really wish all of you actually saw him play before you judged him. Mishy you saw him play like twice and he wasn't brilliant in either games, but I have watched a few of his better games where he was easily as good as Camron Bruce or Matthew Whelan.

As a matter of fact I have seen him play for Sandy, and he wasn't much at all, hence the fact he aint played a game of AFL yet. I saw Or cranked him up to be great, but if he was, he would have played senior. We have too many players of his type who are far better, so expect to see him gone by the end of 2002.

I agree we have many "fringe" players, and hopefully if they don't improve this year, we will dump them!

Can't agree more with that.

I would have thought he would have gone by now. How can you justify keeping someone on the list, when they have yet to play a senior game, and he has not been played in the pre season games, when there were eight players on the bench!

I think we kept him on mainly because he fits under the salary cap. That is why we delisted Collins. If we didn't need the room, I am guessing Collins would have stayed and Clark would have gone. He will be by the end of they year anyway, so it's no big deal.

Exactly, why the hell are they keeping him if they are not intending on actually giving him a go?? Thats what I really don't get!!!

Look above you.........read my last post to see why they kept him on!
Just to put my own two bits in (and get another post). I don't get this. If Clark is any good, why don't they let him play? It can't be just because the selection committee or whoever picks the team each week wants to annoy Or, can it?
On the other hand, if Clark isn't any good, why haven't we gotten rid of him? Didn't we think we'd get anywhere by trading him? Then just sack the bum! If he's no good, then he's just chewing up money.
Notice I've said if a lot in this post. It means I'm not ready to make a judgment either way. Though it looks a bit sus that they don't even pick him for Senior Games that don't really matter.

Exactly, they wouldn't keep him just because he could fit under the salary cap, they could have delisted him and recruited someone new who wil have about the same pay.
He has done some very good things with Sandy and yet it never seems enough.... so just like you Madboy, I really don't get what the hell they are doing.
I think everyone deserves their chance and unless Clarky gets a senior game somewhere sometime he will never get a chance to prove to you all how right I am! ;) :p

How many times do we have to tell you all that he sux befre it really sinks in??
Look at Collins......he is the same sort of player (backline). They need an emergency back-up, and Clark cost elss than Collins. So, they kept Clark. Easy.
Clark won't play unless we get alot of injuries etc.

It won't sink in unless I see it for myself, so far I have seen nothing but good performances from him. You have no valid reason and no evidence to support your argument that he sucks so maybe you should just chill.

Well, okay, you like the guy as a player. But if he has played so well all the time, then he should be in the seniors. Maybe your definition of how well he plays is different from others.
