It is with a little sadness that I read that Doc has decided to hang up the boots.
Matthew Clarke played 130 games in Brisbane, and was the first ever BRISBANE LIONS B&F winner in 1997.
It must be said, that at the time he was traded I thought it was the correct decision by the club, but have been glad to see him continue his career on to 248 games.
Congratulations on a fine career Doc, good luck in the future.

Top player. The way the game evolved didn't suit him very well, but he was still the best tap ruckman in the comp for much of his career.
I remember watching a game at the Gabba when it must have been about 35 degrees in the shade, and Doc rucked all day by himself. Massive effort.
Nice bloke and super player. All best looking down dogs throats Doc.:thumbsu:

I think it was Cupido (pick 6) in 1999.

Onya Doc. One of the all-time nice blokes. Never seemed to have a smile off his face.

From memory (could be wrong) I thought it was Luke Power.
Top bloke, Matty - a class act, and still playing great footy to the last. I must admit to have been quietly barracking for the Crows until their prelim demise so that Matty could get a well-deserved premiership medal before he retired. Sadly it was not to be, but he was always missed and respected by Brisbane fans. All the best of luck to him.

Congrats on a great career Doc. Was a favourite of mine from very early on.
Tremendous shame he never got to a Grand Final, let alone a Premiership, he was one of those players that truly deserved the honour.

I used to be of the same opinion for some reason, but I believe that it was actually pick 6 in the 1999 draft which is what we used to pick up Stupido.
A great website for all draft news is http://www.thedrafter.net/ Only issue is that it only goes as far back as 1998. The 20/20 option when browsing your teams draft picks is interesting, seeing who your team overlooked in favour of say Nathan Clarke or Wayde Mills.:thumbsu:

All the best Doc,
hope you play on next year at Glenelg or repay the transfer fee from Souths.
