-we'll get a good pick for Aker
-it's not best for the team if Mal stays IMO, it's time to move on and we may get something for him
-we need to keep Braddy IMO, badly. He isnt necessarily gone, just weighing up his options as he's entitled to do.
-Mcgrath: see Braddy
-Vossy may yet play on, although it looks unlikely.
-Moody is one of the least impressive of our youngsters, it could have been worse (i.e. Rischa to the Dons)
I think we'll be ok, we just NEED to keep Bradshaw, and if possible Macca.
No need for panic just yet, its just september/october, happens every year for us.

There's always rumours and moves every year, that's nothing new.
However, if all of the below batch leave, then we'll only have 11 premiership players left (Black, Brown, Charman, Copeland, Hadley, Johnson, Lappin, Beau, Notting, Power and Chris Scott).
At the end of 2004 and 2005 we only cleared out 2-3 premiership players each time, but this year has already seen a host leave, with possibly more to join them. That's the real reason for the potential destabilisation.

if every piece of speculation was correct every year, we'd turnover half our list.
its impossible that all of those WILL occur.
i predict AT LEAST Mcgrath and Bradshaw will stay.

Even if by some miracle all these blokes remain, we'll already have lost Akermanis, Keating, Leppitsch and Brad Scott. When Mal leaves, we'll end up with a defensive six that bears no resemblance whatsoever to the one during our golden years, a mere 2 years later.
It's pretty much mathematics. The premiership side would've had a distinct bell-curve with a peak around 26-27ish. As the years go on we lose the first outliers at the higher end of the curve retiring each year until suddenly the start of the peak hits that age, about two to four years later - now, in other words. Injuries just add a couple of "effective" years to some (Leppa, Voss).

Aye.
Them retiring around the same 2-3 year window is no surprise, considering most of our premiership stars were recruited in a similarly narrow window. Just saying that this offseason will have a bigger impact than the previous two, because of higher turnover rate.
But that points to good things in the future. If we can draft well this year and possibly the next, then we'll have the core to challenge for the flag again when this group all come into the prime of their careers roughly at the same time, as was the case with our Fab Four, plus other KPPs.
nah PANIC!!!
Dont panic, dont panic. Who said that?
