I agree with some of the sentiments posted on the Lions forum. I don't think our footy club is sinking into the mire.

On the contrary, I think we are heading for a brash new era, ala the Baby Bombers of the 80's.

Certainly there is an advanced changing of the guard happening at present. But we've just won 3 flags in a row!!! Many supporter's have never & will never see one flag in their lifetimes!

Losing player's of the calibre of Voss, Aker, Michael, Leppa, Keating, Scott will hurt. However all of these player's have given their all. They are, or were in the twilight of their careers. They have been magnificent.

We may lose others in McGrath & Moody too. Let them go if they can't commit to the team like Brownie & Lukey now have. We still have the nucleous of a very good side with Charman, Brown, Black, Lappin, Bradshaw, Johnson, Power & the young guns coming through.

Let's get the best deal we can for them. Let's wish them the best too & move on.

i agree im happy to lose aker and mal provided we get something for them (and moody i guess).
just think that Braddy and Macca should be part of our next phase, and we should do everything possible to keep them.

Yep, we've got to built a young committed team.

Any players that dont feel like they want to be here should be moved along.

I agree & I think Lethal is still the best man to lead us.

Bring in the "BrownDog Era"...Go Browny! If he plays 16-20 games, we'll be top 8 next year.

The drafting of potential young guns in these 2-3 years should see a bunch of good players coming into the prime at roughly the same time, which will hopefully give us a wide enough window of opportunity to win a premiership. Because of their relative ages, perhaps our window will be 5-6 years, rather than just 3-4.
