Not surprised. Was a sensational effort. Freak goals are Eddie's speciality. :)

brilliant!! This is good stuff. Coleman, Goal of the year, best first year player. Things aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

Thoroughly deserved, and it capped off a great year for Betts. He has taken a few steps forward in his skills and endeavour this season. Hopefully, I can say the same thing at the end of next season. :thumbsu:

Agreed. 12 months ago, we rarely saw our players do anything freakish and of course we know where Fevola was at. This year saw some fantastic goals. Some great runs (Simpson & Setanta). Scotland near the top of the disposals list, Whitnall in the top 10 for marks, Bentick one of the leading tacklers and of course Fev winning the Coleman and staying top of the goalkicking list even after the completion of the finals. Several indicators that we are better than we were 12 months ago and with such talent as Murphy, Kennedy, Blackwell, Setanta and Bower showing good signs and the likely addition of Bryce Gibbs and two players drafted in the second round, parrot's favorite words seem to ring true. "Interesting times ahead."

So he should have. He was just about in the front row of the Southern Stand when he kicked it.

Well done Eddie on the GOTY award.

This is probably the only thread that I didn't post in last night so I should probably post in this one too. The way Eddie kicked it, how he got the ball as well as the circumstances leading up to it made it for me one of the best goals I've ever seen. The scariest part of all this is that I'm pretty much certain that we are going to be seeing a lot more of this Eddie magic in years to come. :thumbsu:
