Hi all.
First time poster, long time reader.
Given the pain I felt after 92 and 94, it seemed a bit strange to be happy when WCE won, but I was.
Having had to walk out of the SCG after the semi last year and having all these bandwagon w###ers in their new Swans scarves telling me how wonderful their team was, I felt the football Gods restored the balance to the universe today.
Can't wait for the chance to see the hoops shove it up 'em here in Sydney in 07.

I was going for Sydney. One loss doesn't eclipse the hate after '92 and '94, especially for a dirty franchise interstate team.

how far behind are we from this sort of perofmance.
we argue point etc .....
WE were always going to win with their steely reslove and it anit over till ist's over attitude. far from our it's all over in round 2 attitude

I think hating a team for being better than you is a poor way of going about things. I hate the Kangaroos and I can tell you one thing, it's not because they are better than us.
The Eagles are my fourth team, I got pretty into it. Besides, the Swans got their premiership so **** em.

even though i hated the eagles after 92, 94 I just couldnt stand to see a team feel what us geelong supporters felt in the 90's, even if it was west coast.
I was pretty neutral, but after seeing West Coast getting reamed by the umps in the 3rd quarter, I was really willing Sydney to lose.

Yeah ditto, try living here.....I would rather see the Dockers win it
Wet toast fans are the worst one eyed, small minded fans going around.

Same thing. Its something about small town mentality, the "one team town"....the dockers dont have the same following as the second team to enter the AFL, (same as port) so they dont seem to have the arrogance.

Cheers.
hey nothing personal of course:D
just reminiscing about being heckled and harassed at WCE Geelong games at Subi....quite a contrast to how WCE supporters get treated when watching WCE Geelong games at Skilled Stadium...

Hahaha, you have my sympathies. God, there were some weirdos from WA wandering the Casino at 3AM last night...
Anyway, I was indifferent as to who won and glad it was a close, hard fought contest.
And seeing Nick Davis cry did make my day :)

Umm.........so we are as arrogant as West Coast and Adelaide?

Congrats to .. them. NEVER. The day I hope they win is the day I give up on football all together . At least with the Red and White I can relate to their long suffering followers.Lossing to the Swans last year was nothing compared to a loss in a GF. To me no team should be allowed to win without 20 or so years of suffering , 3 or 4 looses in a row for West Coast might have just taken the edge of their all mighty attitude but now a 1 point win and they have been re-charged.
Not that Im bitter or anything...
Thank goodness the Eagles won, the lesser of the two evils, my most hated of all teams Sydney, boy was it good when the final siren went, although now not living so close to Sydney, with all its pro-swans garbage, the hate is still there, but the edge has been taken off a bit.

Umm.........so we are as arrogant as West Coast and Adelaide?
are most of the state of WA behind the WCE....yes....are most of the state of SA behind Adelaide.....yes......are most of Victorians behind Geelong? No, there are a few other Victorian clubs going around I believe.
trust me, there is a difference;)
No, you said one town team. We are the quintessential one town team. It has been brandied about this forum all year as our big problem.............Oh wait you winked, sorry I'm a bit hepped up from the Rugby League tonight.

I have admiration for the way Sydney play as a team and their discipline, I hate however the ugly way they play the game, constant stoppages, slowing the game down etc. I thought this was a fitting result for football.
I'm not a fan of West Coast but they were the better team on the day and deserved to win despite Goldspinks best efforts!
