I see the new album copped a caning in the Sun Herald-Sun. A bit unfair, I thought- now 'Magician Amongst The Spirits'- there was a CRAP album!! Comments on the newie?

Typical review by a "critic" who refuses to believe that a band who was relevant in the 80's can still be. Note he trotted out the
Models & Kids in the Kitchen as examples,please!!!
Australian musics best kept secret,The Church continue to defy those who have been writing them off for years.Much loved in the UK & US,with the most loyal fan base of any long standing Australian band,this album is a grower.
Like all the best Church albums,eg Priest = Aura,Heyday,it does not rely on one killer radio track but washes over you,encouraging you delve deeper into Kilbeys always emotive lyrics.
Not sure about the choice of Numbers as the 1st single but lets face it,only JJJ are going to play it anyway.
If your whole knowledge of The Church is Under The Milky Way,find time to give After Everything Now This a try. A couple of
listens will be enough of an insight to realise why Thom Yorke credits The Church as "My Roadmap"
But be warned,Pandora's Box beckons.
