Well that other footy team in Brisbane for the NRL have won their Preimership. Just proving we are the best city when it comes to playing with a football!

2000 - Brisbane Broncos Preimers
2001 - Brisbane Lions Preimers
2002 - Brisbane Lions Preimers
2003 - Brisbane Lions Premiers
2004 - Brisbane Lions Runners Up
2005 - North Queensland Runners Up
2006 - Brisbane Broncos Premiers

The NRL mates of mine cheered on the Lions when they won their preimers and I'm doing the same back to them! Broncos can win 2007 and we are will be back by 2008 for a flag for the Lions! Let's keep N.S.W and V.I.C away from the Flags!

Brisbane Rules!

I would have much prefered the cowboys to win it, but at least another Qld team won. The bulls have been in the Shield/Pura Cup final for nearly a decade so the maroon dominance continues. :D

I love the Cowboys too. They're been back in the eight, just like the Lions!

The other half was always a League girl but I converted her :thumbsu::thumbsu:. We went to some friends tonight to watch the game. First I have watched this year to be honest. Not my game. IMO it was good to watch Brisbane win but I did not find it that exciting. League plods along IMO compared to AFL. That is not criticism just my preferance.

fair call - it's a bit disresperctful to our Melbourne-based Lions

on the handful of occasions I have watched the Lions play in Melbourne in the past 5 years i have been very impressed with the Melbourne fans and felt very proud that we are part of the same club

at the time i was upset to lose the Bears but now i see the proud tradition which the merger allowed us to be a part of

it's funny, i now look back on the old VFL days and truly see the Fitzroy Lions as 'my' team

thanks Roys :thumbsu:

I just get a bit Pi$$ed of at the single minded habits of some fellow Lions.
We are a two state team so this sort of $hit serves no real purpose.

At the time I had just logged on after watching the game, & was not overly happy with the ref (for want of a better word) as it was............

Anyway, anyone catch the football/soccer last night? ;)

& Spurs had to cheat to win so Im happy :)

Poor Old Pedro,
Scores a half way goal against your lot for us...... no goal
Gets king hit by Thatcher........ yellow card no red?
Comes back to WHL, Zokora dives penalty winning goal.

Doesn't get much of a fair go from the refs.

Oooh yeah. I have just finished watching EPL highlights. Massive injustice. I have Zokora in my dream team though.

How good was Van Persie's 2nd goal. Breath taking.

i have a soft spot for the Broncs, I just dont like the code much, if that makes any sense

as for webby - he is more than a good bloke, he is an effing legend!!

i was at a broncos function (blind drunk) several years ago and spent half an hour explaining to Shane that I preferred AFL to league and then proceeded to give him some tips on his tackling

he listened to all my crap and still gave me a big pat on the back and helped me to a cab - i wouldn't have put up with me for 5mins :o

he is the John Eales of league - never met a more honest, modest, down-to-earth player in any code (big call I know but I would honestly back it)

anyway, enough of the Webcke fan club, let's get back on topic...

Yeah Webby is nice - so are Carroll and Maguire (know them through my old job) - sent Tunza a message Sat night to say good luck and he replied within 5 mins and sent Casey a goodbye and good luck one on Monday morning and again, got a message back straight away...:)...would be two of the nicest blokes to play League footy...

BTW...Has anyone started counting how many sleeps 'til we start again ?
