my source is red hot, but I still can't believe this:

Trade 1
everitt to saints, goddard to carlton, #1 pick to saints who trade pick to Brisbane for Bradshaw, Bradshaw to Hawthorn.
Trade 1
Hawks - in Bradshaw - out everett
Saints - in everitt - out goddard
Carlton - in Goddard - out top pick
Brisbane - in top pick - out bradshaw

Trade 2
Brisbane - aker to dogs
Dogs - cross to ess
Ess - Stanton to Bris

Cant imagine giving up a top pick for Goddard..and using it to move on Bradshaw..

Also how does getting Essendon involved change the Aker deal?? What is the point of involving Stanton?

Carlton won't give up top pick, the first trade is BS.

The second one dosn't seem to unlikely even though Dogs/Dons fans will say "we'd never give up Stanton/Cross." I'd say that the second one won't happen, about 98% sure about it, but the first one has no chance.

Nice. You've made an ass of yourself. Cross is contracted and doesn't want to leave, from the horse's mouth. Goddard just re-signed . Strike 2. And it was reported today Everitt is most likely to go to Sydney . Strike 3:rolleyes:

If you read what I wrote, I said that I too don't belive this crap. But the source I got it from has come up with the goods in the past...

No way Carlton would give up #1 pick for Goddard when we could have persuaded him not to sign with the Saints and got him for nothing in the PSD.

He must be taking the pi$$ on trade 1... trade 2 looks a little realistic but I don't think the Dons will deal off Stanton... Maybe Dyson J Johnson or Pevrill...

So St Kilda effectively trade Goddard for Everitt, while giving up a shot at Bryce Gibbs in the process? Hilarious.

haha I am quick :p

Johnson seems more realistic... to be honest losing cross wouldnt be too bad for the dogs. They seem to have all these guys who are roughly the same ie: gilbee hahn hardgraves cross ray griffen not sayin that is a bad thing!

Cannot believe Carlton fans complaining about Goddard for Pick 1 how bout us we pretty much trade Goddard for Everitt but in saying that the whole trades just plain bs

Exactly green, that was my first thought, St Kilda couldn't possibly be daft enough to agree to that

Simplified, it could be:

Everitt -> StKilda
Goddard -> Carlton
Thornton -> Hawthorn

Anyone??

so effectively the saints swap a 22 old player starting to rise and has 8 years left in him, for a 32 old wanning player with 2 years tops?

Not even the saints are that stupid....

Just in case everyone would believe it and then it would come true??

You're an idiot.

BTW - if you want some real news, I heard than Sammy mitchell wants out at Hawthorn. i'll know more tomorrow - but unlike this thread, this is not a joke.

He is not happy with the way some are reacting to his 'preferences'.

There is no way we are going to give a a kid who we have put 3 years work into and is just starting to come good for that scum Everitt

wow I surprised to see that a Hawthorn fan posted this. It is so unbiased and not lobsided at all a 32 year old with off field problems in the twilight of his career out the door for a 22yr old KPP backman with lots of potential to improve (already a good player). Such a even trade...

Fair enough - I guess Thomas thought the same way.

Question is - would Spider get you over the line within the next 2 years (scum or not)?

(fwiw - I don't believe the original post either)

3rd round pick for everitt

ausfatcat
3 Oct 2006, 17:32
spider may be a worth looking at from the saints point of view but not for silly trades like this, maybe and I say maybe for a second rnd or a 3rd and a fringe player. Or a GOP. This trade is just so ludicrous it's unbelieveable someone could post this thinking anyone would take it seriously.

The Punter

Don't you people know anything?

You cannot trade someone who is under contract before their next contract begins. Goddard just re-signed, so he cannot be traded until next year.

Bzzz. Wrong.

Gilbee - Running/silky skilled Half Back Flanker
Hahn - Bulky Midfielder/half forward
Hargrave - 3rd tall who plays as a KPP due to our team set up.
Ray - Fast winger
Griffen - Set to be gun midfielder
Cross - In and under ball winner

People who say we have 'a lot of the same' mean we have a lot of runners like McMahon, Griffen, Cooney, Giansiracusa, Eagleton who can all play on ball. But as for 'roughly the same' Cross is only matched by Scott West in terms of what he does.

Cross is held in such high regard at the club and by the coaching staff, there's no way we'd give him up for Aker. No way.

They are still all midfielders who can play on a flank... maybe with the exception of hardgraves. IMO the dogs dont need someone like aker they could do with someone like Polak

If both parties agree to break the contract they can.

wrong, it was only talked about bringing in a rule to that effect (ie, the heffernan rule) but the AFLPA decided against it as it would restrict movement. eg. someone extends his contract in janurary and then has a falling out in july, can't go to anther club in october trade period ends up nowhere. In other words yes Goddard can be traded but because he is in contract he has to agree to it.

Judd to Pies for Both Clokes
Cox to the Saints for Andrew Thompson
Hall to the Tigers for Rodan, Roach and Humm

Just because you write something does not mean it is true.

nice trade obviously a reliable souce but I think this trade would be more reliable.

Cox and Judd to saints for Thompson and schwarz

even thou schwarze is worth a lot more because he played eight games this year (improving).
