Does anyone know when it begins and what the format will be? (Round Robin matches at Fremantle Oval?)

The Governors Chellenge starts on the 2th of March, the fixtures are on the WAFL site;

The pre-season competition goes for 4 weeks and this year features a WA Country team.

The WAFL is probably the only professional state league that has a pre-season comp now. I love pre-season comps. It's a pity that the other leagues can't make room for one.
The SANFL had one but that went under, but if we can get the NT and maybe other teams in, the old pre-season cup format can be brought back.

Unfortunately due to lack of finances the NT won't be able to afford a side in the SANFL for at least 3-4 years - possibly longer........the NTFL almost went under this year and has now been taken over by the AFL hence the new name this year AFLNT.
As a die hard Port Adelaide fan I'd love to see SANFL games up here sooner but they need to sort out the local league before having a combined side in the SANFL.
