Why is there no interest in getting him? We have let Hawthorn make all the running.
He's a talented, young, reasonably experienced full back and the price - in both trade and salary terms - is not likely to be extremely high. Why isn't he a target?

Maybe he's told his agent he wants to stay in Melbourne?
Good question though, I say GO FOR HIM!!!

Yes, a very good question.
I wouldn't mind having him! :) He's young and has so much to promise.

You guys would be a certainty for the flag if you got him. He would give the Sydney backline so much versatility and strength. Not only does he shutdown power forwards, he has that attacking flare that is a trademark of the Sydney defence. 5 times this year he had over 20 touches a game, and many other times he came close. To have him, Barry, and Kennelly all in the same backline would be exciting to watch.
As you can tell, I'd much rather he went to Sydney or Brisbane than a rival Victorian club. At least that way I wouldn't have to hate him. :thumbsu:

If you even consider getting him Hawthorn would make sure Everitt wouldn't go to Sydney.

I would take Thornton over Everitt.

I would prefer an impenetrable backline than an over the hill ruckman.

personally i would prefer thornton as well so long as he has no injuries and doesn't end up like a sack of sh1t like hay.
our defense sucked on gf day, we need it stronger
