Teams picking 1 to 8 do you trade multiple lower round picks (eg 2nd and 3rd round) for a second first round pick?

Teams picking 9 to 16 do you swap your first round pick for multiple lower round picks?

If Brisbane picked up a couple of additional second round picks I would be prepared to trade a second and a third for mid range first. If they didn't get any additional picks I probably wouldn't do it unless there was someone available who I thought would be a star. I might consider though trading a 2nd and a 4th for a second first bearing in mind that the Lions pick at 21 anyway.

I would trade pick 7 to Carlton for 17 & 19.

Instead of getting Proud we could get Houli & Armitage. 2 midfielders instead of 1. Who knows if Proud will even be better than the other 2.

Carlton could then get either a gun ruckman Leuenberger if still available or James Sellar ( a team mate and friend of Gibbs ) who could also be a ruckman/key forward option.

Carlton should offer pick 1 to Port for 5 & 23

Let Gibbs stay in Adelaide, take Leuenberger @ 5 and get another good kid at 23.

I would definitely do that but for two things:

1) I dont think we can trade pick 17 (priority pick)

2) Unless there was a fair chance Leuenberger or Thorp was available, it might not be worth it.

Why wouldn't Carlton just stock up on Gibbs, Armitage and Houli.
