He won the Bendigo B/F so he can play
Elevate him he can take Boltons spot. He'd be good if JJ leaves

No, hes slow and has no skill whatsoever. IMO, why replace one bloke who can't play for another.

He would be our version of Mark McGough

who the F U C K are you? IMO i doubt you have never seen him play.... must beable to go alright if he has captained Vic Metro, Calder Cannons and now won B&F for bendigo.

should deffinantly be promoted perminantly next year! has a great engine and great leadership qualities, and showed he can play when he played against collingwood, started in the middle.

:thumbsu: should be elevated

Don't elevate him. There are better players to be found in the draft and PSD than Jolley. Good VFL player but that is about it.

give the guy a break. he is the type of kid you would want on your list. i agree with koc#41, he has great leadership abilities and does have a large engine

i agree with big boy, this guy is a good vfl player and thats all, lonergan is a better prospect then him. to slow for afl.

People said Watson was too slow for AFL as well

Seems like a career fringe player i'm afraid.

Slattery, Heff, McVeigh, Pev and Hocking are all better and can all play the same role as Jolley.

I like the way he goes about his business, but just don't see him improving very much.

I'm sure you will get the chance to draft him then.

i think he deserves a chance to prove himself at AFL level. I don't think you can write him off as just being a good VFL player yet. Sam Mitchell was one of those players that was considered not quick enough and just a good VFL player but he was given a crack and he's developed into a pretty decent AFL player. I'm not saying Jolley will turn out to be like him or as good as him but i think he's earned a chance to be given an opportunity.

yeah i never said that but im saying it for jolley, if he is so good why didn't another club draft him when he was on our rookie list? there's lots of vfl players that have won b&F's and then been immediately delisted or traded. When winderlich and dyson dominate games in vfl yet only produce cameo performances in the afl then you know the difference between levels.

Im sorry for those concerned but jolley wont make it. Watson however was in my supercoach side before round 1 and remained there.

Give the kid game time and he'll make it.

Showed very good signs in the little time he was given this year... he ain't afraid to go for the hard ball get that's for sure.

Agree!:thumbsu: He'll develop a sustainable engine with more exposure at senior level. He hasnt been given a real go yet, so anyone doubting him would be kidding themselves and you know who you are!

I'm not all that fussed on him, If we're gonna play a kid in the middle I'd rather play Lonergan there already

jolley reminds me so much of leon baker. a late bloomer baker was. if jolley is any good as baker, he will develop in around his mid 20s. ben has really earned his spot on the list.

He hasnt had a REAL GO yet? Are you for real? Most of our side looked crap this season against better opposition, so its hardly warranted to judge him on 2006 alone.

The kid can definitely play... him and Lonergan will do well at Essendon in my opinion.

He's line ball, always puts him and contributes but he hasn't done anything to make the club say "we have to elevate him"

No mate are u for real??? yes i can see dempsey, dyson, lonergan having an impact for our club but i can't see jolley making it. Thats my opinion buddy and if he proves me wrong then id be the first to post a conragulations thread on bigfooty with a serious apology for being so wrong. But if he is delisted either this year or next will you do the courteous thing and apologise to those that didn't believe in him.

Why the hell would I be apologising for having a different opinion? Funny you leave yourself room by adding 'next year'...If you think he isnt worth a pinch of ****, surely this year would be the last we see of him according to your estimates. Wouldnt want the club to keep a player another year that doesnt appear that he'll make it...

By that token, how long are you prepared to give Dyson?? 07 will be his 4th year (correct me if Im wrong) on our list...shouldn't his head be on the chopping block by now given he floats in and out of the side? He certainly looks like he can make it, but he's YET to truly cement his spot in our best 22.

Please tell me you are joking
I have seen pretty much all of Bens games and not once did Baker come to mind as a comparision.

I nearly choked when I read that, but I thought it must have been a mistake and gave him the time to edit it before I quoted it.

Good Golly Jolly has worked hard to get on our list, is a ball magnet and hard at the ball. He deserves a two year deal.

Dyson is a light build who needs to bulk up a bit, and needs more strength &
stamina. Where is it written that all players develope at the same pace ?
Winderlich and Laycock are being given time as well. It's called a gut instinct -something you don't have ?

From the games i've watched of Jolley, he hasnt show much. (maybe coz i havnt seen much of him)
We need 2 elevate him into the seniors & give him a good year under his belt.
The same goes for Lonergan, except ive seen glimpses of brilliance from him.

You obviously have no idea what 'sarcasm' is, do you?? Im pointing out that Jolley needs time, as you have pointed thet Winders and Laycock do also. Might suggest you read the entire exchange before making a careless assumption like that!!

Yeh mate ive seen him play and he's a good VFL player, however there are better options around in the draft this year. Maybe id take him in the PSD if there isn't what we want around but i stick by my OPINION!!.

He's the type of player who could fit a Sydney style well enough, so i wonder if Lyon will pick him up for the saints, seeing he was meant to have a lot do with the way sydney played.

Doubt it he is too much like Bentick imo. He will continue to train with Essendon apparently and may be redrafted in the rookie draft. You have to delist rookies after 2 years if you dont elevate them. Peverill signing a one year deal killed BJ's chance of elevation. I am disappointed for him he is a ripping fella.
