I read a few days ago, in the Hun, that Shaun Pollock was in doubt for the first test.
I haven't heard anything since.
A Shaun Pollock-less SA won't even be competitive with the Aussies.
Anyone heard whether he will be playing?.

I am able to confirm that South African captain Shaun Pollock has pulled out of the first test due to a side strain he suffered in the one-day series here in Australia. Mark Boucher will be acting captain.

Further, there is doubt as to whether Pollock will be fit for the 2nd & 3rd tests as well. A big loss for the Proteas.
