Very interesting so far,

Tim Houlihan ran an impressive Beep Test, 15.04? David Armitage was pumped up ENORMOUSLY!

Hansen, Gibbs and Gumbleton were all spoken about, with Burgan also having alot to say about Selwood.

You know the more I listen to this, the more I reckon Armitage could be a player who gets drafted Top 5. Burgan is usually on the ball with these things based on the fact that he actually talks to recruiters, and he had alot of positive stuff to say about the kid (even moreso than Gibbs suprisingly).

Great to listen to. :thumbsu:

Word has it that QLD U/18 team had alot of talented players in it,so expect Brisbane to use their first pick (no 4) on a local player,Armitage might be the one!

Wouldnt be suprised if he sneaks into the top 10, looking over past phantom drafts by him he hasnt done all that bad.

Armitage does have a lot of the good physical attributes

Well apart from the obvious, he spoke about the new trials that have been implimented at the camp (the 6x20m sprints with a 20 second break in between).

Tim Houlihan had supposedly a very good beep test for a 189cm defender, as I said, running around 15.04.

Joel Selwood has only been hampered slightly by his knee injury (doesn't want to aggravate it too much, but it was said that if he had wanted to, he could have played in the last 4 matches in the TAC Cup), but most if not all recruiters are very, very keen on him.

David Armitage was given an enormous wrap (way more than Albert Proud?), with Daniel Dfuzer and Hayden Kiel(?) also having alot of positives said about them - no mention of Kurt Tippett.

Mitch Thorp has been hampered rather substantially due to his ankle(?) injury?

Burgan has spoken to both Hansen and Gibbs so far and said they both seemed like 'very impressive and well-grounded people". He's speaking to Gumbleton tommorow.

That's all I can remember right now off the top of my head.

Well he spoke a fair amount about his,

Athletic ability
Room to improve
The fact that he is such a quality talent from the Sunshine Coast
Footy nous

Perhaps it was more Burgan giving the AFLQ a wrap for developing such players, but he did talk quite a bit about him and the other two mentioned above.

Tim Houlihan = CULTURE

Anyone who drafts this kid, should do so at their own peril. That name is cursed.

I do not want another 'hoops' running around in a Richmond jumper.

As good as Armitage is and what potential he has, I just can't see Brisbane overlooking a KPP (probably Thorp) now that Mal Michael has joined Justin Leppitsch in retirement.

Phil..he did mention Tippet and some other talls as being QLD ruckmen..
Interesting to see how much the TAC Grand Final does for your repuation with Nathan Thompson asking about the likes of Batsanis, Goldstein and Kelly in relation to state screening. Im sure he would never have heard of those names before Saturday.
Burgan mentioned that i think about 10 players were drafted that went to state screening with the most noticeable this year being Bartram (pick 60).

He's very good at picking up on who is likely to be around in what range.

He doesn't always get the picks right, but every year idiots criticise him, saying "Player X will go WAY higher than that" or "No chance Player Y sneaks into the Top 5", and usually, he's pretty spot on.

Good work "Philhawk"
Those in the know in Bendigo tell me this kid is the best of the Selwood boys (Another one coming through juniors at present who is also no slouch!).
Cna seriously play and better than his brothers, a good pickup.

Is Armitage the guy Colin Wisbey was talking up last year, but wasn't picked? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Wisbey had a kid he ranked at #8 overall, but he wasn't drafted.

Haven't seen him play, haven't professed to have seen him play, and don't need to see him play. My comment was purely based on an often used cliche about the 'youngest' brother.

As for me now understanding that he's not the youngest ? Well yes, I can read. And you made no spelling errors. Well done.

sinepari

You should see him play as he is one significantly talented young bloke. Many believe he was equal with Gibbs prior to long-term injury.

What are you insinuating re spelling errors?

He won the medal for the best player in the ressies GF, not the player of the year in the reserves comp. Played some great games in the firsts early in the year, I too hope we pick him up.
