Now that he has announced his retirement both Costa and Cook should be on the next plane up to Brisvegas with the cheque book.

I hope so!

Well if they're going all that way for Vossy make sure they buy a Bradshaw or a Notting while they're up there.

Staying in Brisbane.
Staying in Brisbane.
Voss? Or Bradshaw and Notting?
Voss retiring means they can accommodate Bradshaw's demands - that's if they want to.

if voss is looking to coach, the cats should move heaven and earth to get him down to kardinia park... hopefully he can instill some hardness and determination, not to mention clean disposal to our struggling midfield group.

He had been linked with assistant coaching positions at a handful of Victorian clubs, but said he planned to stay in Brisbane for the time being.
That's consistent with what he said on radio about a week ago - i.e he intends to take a year off and just do some media work.
And I'd only take Bradshaw and Notting if they came cheap.

The Cats have advertised the position so Vossy has to apply.....bloody idiotic if you ask me.

yeah, cos it would be completely impossible for Voss to email or phone the club in order to apply for the gig ey? sheesh, what are the club thinking?

If that's the club approach then we haven't come very far after all. The chances of Voss coaching anywhere next year are remote [as he has said repeatedly] but even if they're only 1% we should be trying to get him. A footy thoroughbread with a sound knowledge of the game and a top bloke. And in the slightly longer term he could be our senior coach.

Incorrect. They lost this argument near the end of the season, they have to pay out his entire contract if he retires early. And to make it worse, it IS counted to their next year's salary cap.
You can start laughing now.

Maybe we should change your name to Mr Sarcastic
I meant it's ridiculous in the sense that instead of going out and finding the best coach the GFC are content to hope that he applies in the conventional manner. That is ludicrous to me. If Vossy is interested, even a sniff.....then they should be chasing him.

what magical rule says the club can't pursue Voss if it so chooses and advertise the job? They've advertised the gig so as to cast the net as wide as possible and secure the best bloke for the job. It's called 'exploring all options'.

your comment has merit if the cats do as you say......that is IF, and nothing in our immediate past makes me think that will be the case :thumbsd:
