Are we losing all of our assistant coaches? Peter Jonas has left for Adelaide, The horse is rumoured to coach the saints..

I don't like it at ALL! What with leaving they take all our secrets and game plans and strenths and weakness.

Heh, i know. Oh well, atleast he's not going to a club like Eagles. It's not like we know how to beat Adelaide anyway, so whatever gameplan we have when we play them needs some modifications now.

We've got Blakey from the Lions. It might help, but I'd hate to think if the horse and Jonas will tell the other teams our strengths and weaknesses. But Paul Roos will think of something anyways, if that happens. Which, i highly doubt.

Interestingly when Roos was talking up his assistants the other day he mentioned the great job Longmire was doing up forward, Lyon in the midfield and Berbakov, with Jonas in the defence. I thought it strange that he mentioned Berbakov first, when he's not seen as an 'official' assistant, so this change (Jonas out) may have been on the cards for some time. It's also worth remembering that Jonas refused an opportunity to interview for the Adelaide head coaching job previously, saying he was happy in Sydney etc. So somethings changed.

Thats interest considering you have lost the last 7 out of 8 games vs Adelaide. As opposed to 4 out of the last 8 games against West Coast. Is it just because you are more worried about West Coasts gun midfield stars? I cant believe we havent managed to meet in the finals in the last two years when we have been up the top of the ladder, would have been an interesting clash. I am also happy to see that we have picked up Peter Jonas as he seems to have a good reputation and will be a great replacement for Don Pyke who has just recently left.

Obviously you didn't get what i was saying. I was saying atleast he isn't going to the Eagles (which is a club that we always have close games with) that aren't a club that really know how to beat us, most games between us go either way. Where as with Adelaide, they already know how to beat us.. like you said, 7 out of the last 8. So if he's going and giving away any "game plan" and "secrets" away, i mean.. Adelaide already know how to beat us. If you get my drift..

Jonas wanted to return to Adelaide for family reasons pure and simple. Just so happens that the Crows had an opening on their coaching panel and he was more than welcomed by them. Nothing to do with a falling out with Roos, just the same reasons why we let Steve Malaxos return to Perth for family reasons after the 2003 seasons and allowed him to take a job up with Freo.

We have got John Blakley in to replace Jonas and he has been a premiership assistant coach at Brisbane in a defensive role and is a former teammate of Roosy.
