Just heard from an inside source at trade week that this following is close to going through.
St. Kilda giving up Steven Milne to Essendon for their pick no.20 and Henry Slattery.
Deal should be done by end of the day waiting for AFL to confirm.

Won't happen.
Slatts just signed a 2 year deal earlier this year.

Does that mean they're not getting Steve Johnson? Can't see them slotting both of them in for picks 18 and 20.

Milne is not worth pick 20 by its self, and Slattery has just signed a 2 year deal.
Come up with something more realistic.

Pick 20 for Milne = Essendon getting ripped off.
LOL at these completed trades
Milne ain't worth that much. Let alone a 2nd rnd pick by itself.

Essendon has given its supporters some hope for the future as the club struggles in the midst of a 13-match losing streak by re-signing potential stars of the game Angus Monfries and Henry Slattery to new two-year deals that will see them remain with the club until at least the end of 2008.
Why would the Dons trade him, after not long ago re signing him?
isn't the 'heffernan rule' still in use? a player can not be traded if signed a contract within that year?

Answer - unless the deal was too good to refuse he stays.
Milne is definatley not that. I'd hope we stear well clear of him preferably, and if were to trade for him only offer a 4th rounder.

I remember when SEN predicted where and when the first 4 finals would be this year, they only got one right. They are just as excited and keen to see trades as we are

JUST ANNOUNCED ON SEN!
Here's how it works,
Moron A posts stupid rumour on BF
Moron B reads stupid post on BF then rings SEN
Moron C hears repeat of stupid post on radio, and raises new post on BF claiming it must be true as it was just on SEN
And the circle of life is complete. :thumbsu:

isn't the 'heffernan rule' still in use? a player can not be traded if signed a contract within that year?
No. That rule was never carried through, as clubs were simply not resigining anyone, so the AFLPA said scrap it.
