I haven't seen it, but I can tell it'll just be a "We're America, aren't we so great" film.

I saw it today and it is rubbish. For a start I don't rate Nicholas Cage as an actor. Secondly, the whole movie focuses on two firefighters trapped in the rubble and their family's reactions. It was like any other disaster movie. It would have been much more interesting to focus on people actually in the WTC when the planes crashed into it.

Too soon IMHO
Shouldn't have been made until war on terror is over and all terroists groups/rings have been brought to justice.
I'm just worried movies like this are just going to promote Islamic hatred, alhtough I do understand the need for the yanks to acknowledge the people who were perceieved to be courageous and heroic that day,.

Its great that they're showing this film, shows that the world can put the desaster into history like WW2 and other such events that shape our history. Though it does look just a tad "we're american we're so great" like Jarryd said, would be nice if they globalised the film in the production phase so the world can enjoy it, however i look forward to seeing it one day and how its all portrayed

yeah, it is one of thoes touchy things, i mean if they show the entire movie without showing or mentioning anything about islam, middle east or haveing actors of such steryotypes, then it would just be a desaster story about someone trying to escape a building like 'day after tomorrow' where the antagonist has no face and is not personified by anything.
Well, if you haven't seen it you are not qualified to comment. I have seen it and whilst not on the same level as United 93, it still is a good a/c on the 18th and 19th survivors (only 20 survivored) pulled from the wreckage of the WTC.
If you did a film based on those on board the planes (United 93 excepted coz there was actual recordings) that hit the WTC it would be totally fabricated and not based on anything.
And no, it is not a "were American, were great" film.
PS : If you ever been to NYC and had the opportunity to actually go up the WTC (fortunately I have twice) you will be emotionally touched by this film.

Its not too soon, its just not the greatest movie but I admire the effort as any 9/11 movie is a touchy topic and will never be easy.
The movie is nowhere near United 93 but in its own right, is better than average.
Worth seeing but not a memorable one.

I wonder if they'll stretch this one out so they can have American Steath bomber bomber flying over Afganistan at the end bombing the place to hell.

I've seen some shockers in me time and I have to admit that is up there as the worse movie ever.
It lacked variety and is simply going over 2 blokes trapped in the rubble rather than the whole conflict and tryed to appeal on the emotions of the audience.

yeah it was extremely ordinary.
Cage's career must be on thin ice after this one.

There doesn't seem to be any middle ground on this movie on the IMDB site, either they love it or hate it

I think you'll find that will never happen.
Mrs Evo had the poor judgement to borrow this last night.
I can't believe Cage ,who I'm by and large a fan of,agreed to be in this atrocity
I can safely say.

My sister was in New York when it was released over there and the reaction from the New Yorkers she met was far from positive. Most people thought it was degrading to the firefighters etc who died.
