Come Draft Day who do you hope we take at Pick 14 , that has a realistic chance of being available?

Personally I hope we take Ben Reid, looks like a freakish athlete and he can seriously play.

Ben Reid. Little on the skinny side atm, but is tall, quick and has bucketloads of talent.

Extreme bottom aged too.

I think your team will be the one that needs it. I guess thats how you won your only premiership so a bit of a luck can be good. :)

I have a nagging feeling that James Sellar might be the big slider (Similar to Mitchell Clarke last year) and still be avaliable at our pick.

No chance, Port will pick him up at 5 if still available.

I like Reid but I'm not so sure... He's a bit too risky for my liking. He's bottom aged but I think he could be around come pick 32 if he slides. I like Collard or Hislop. Collard is a very exciting prospect, although he does have OP at the moment.

I see on the draft and trading board, lots of people's phantom drafts linking us with Tom Hislop. What kind of player is he and is he a realistic target?

Hislop is a tall midfielder who already has a man's body and is all class.

I forgot to add him in my previous post but I would be loving it if we got:

Riewoldt or Hislop with pick 14.

Hislop was super impressive at the U18's and is from Tasmania.

FWIW, I hope to hell you're wrong. I think #14 is about Sellar's level actually.

Hope so,
But would the AFC take him?

Sounds good... can he play in the forward line too?

Guys, talking about midfielders with pick 14 is pointless IMHO unless there is a major slider that is just head and shoulders above the KPP that will be available with that pick.

I would think we will pick KPP in this draft with maybe one midfielder type and thats unlikely to be in first round. I think 2nd round onwards is when we will select a midfielder.

If we have 4 picks in the ND, I would think we will go with 3 KPP and a midfielder.

What sort of KPP value would we get at 48 or 64 ? Westhoff ? Local SANFL talent ?

Im not too worried about 14, most people are aware of the value that should be around at this pick and our club should do ok here. For me, its all about how you manage your later picks.

No Point paying over value for a KPP at pick 14. Hislop is a very good player. Collard is also a very good palyer who would add some class and pace to our midfield.

I agree with your thoughts above with one exception.

I think it's more likely to be 2 KPP's and 2 midfielders - unless the cards really fall our way with the KPP's

I think 2 KPP's and 2 Mids is more likely as well.

I would be rapt with Riewoldt at #14, but the truth is I have no idea how good these guys are, and I simply want the best possible tall forward to fall to us.

Its going to be interesting to see who stays on our list for next year. It would seem that we prefer to use 4 picks in the National Draft, and 1 in the PSD.

So far, Clarke and Hart are gone, and I'd guess that Hinge will be cut.

Say Skippy goes to the Roos in the PSD, who else is going to get the chop?

Jericho is probably next to go, but it appears the club wants to give him another go.

Sellar, Riewoldt, Hislop. I expect all to b gone by 12, but would jump at them. ATM can't think foa relaistic KPP apart form these that may be avail when we choose, so would go with Tom Hurley, and then pick up Westhoff then Twomey later in the draft.

hurley wont even get drafted... rookie at best i reckon... average skills... not quick... struggled today a bit at state screening i feel... finds the ball okay but thats about all he has going for him... i will go mental if we pick him at 14...

Hislop could be a good pick up if he's still around. Can Reiwoldt play or is he likely to get picked up because of his name? from memory i think he went alright at the U18's comp but im not sure.
Young Addam Maric kicked 6 goals for Calder in the TAC cup GF. played a reasonable sort of game, maybe he could be an option for a later pick or as a rookie.
