... in Brisbane actually.
Have been hearing about the cracks appearing in the south east freeway/captain cook bridge and was just wondering how it is affecting people.
Also where exactly are the cracks (Ann street on ramp I heard, anywhere else?) and what parts have been blocked off?
And how long do you think it will take to fix? It sounds like it may be a while.

They opened the expressway today, so all good.
Ann street on ramp still closed, but minor inconvienience really.
Trying to catch public transport the other day was absolutely crazy. Took extra time to get home cos they had to have people coming n telling everyone that was standing to squish up to fit more people on... and I was on the very first carriage that is normally somehwat deserted. Was not fun.

Until yesterday I lived only a 4 or 5 k's from the city centre, I'm now about 20k's out. A couple of days ago the main road near my house was bumper to bumper for 3 hours in the morning. The next day - NOTHING. When I say NOTHING, I mean NOTHING. 4 times I looked out and the 5th was when I went to get in my car to go to work, and there was NOTHING - ZERO CARS - going down Old Cleveland Road. It was quite eerie. You don't even get that on a Sunday night! It was like everyone had just jumped on the trains and buses.
Gotta a feeling it's not going to be that nice for me when I have to drive to work next week from the new place :(

That is a major inconvience for me. It's how i get home from the city. I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon (a trip that usually takes 20 mins).
The sooner flying cars are invented, the better.
Bah! I laugh at you all! How do you feel about becoming intimate with a a train window every morning?:p

Yeah. The city has been dead quiet.
Gateway has been a nightmare.
You can't get to most places you want in Brisbane by Public transport, or their are full buses pass you by.Frustratinf stuff.
Although driving in on Thursday,I was on the road at 6, and easy peasy.
