Did anyone else catch the first story tonight?

Some people in this world  . Imagine breast feeding your 5 year old and not letting them go to school, use a nappy, or even sleep alone.

Those kids are going to be socially retarded when they grow up. It is a form of child abuse.

I tend to agree, when I say tend to, read completly.

Yep good way to create kids with zero social skills who will never be able to make decent friends.

I think these parents need to have a serious look at themselves.

Yeah, they might even end up being stupid enough to watch 60 minutes.

Total bunch of freaks!

And how messed up was the Pommy dad who said his wife squirted her breast milk into his eyes to cure his conjunctavitis.

Children need boundaries, and structure to devlop normally.

these people should not have children. They have no idea. They are harming their children's development.

These children will have major problems in the future. They need to be able to accept no means no.That no acutally exists. To be able to work within societies rules.
No rules means major issues and problems in the future.

I think the Australian Taxation Office's new breed of employees are coming along fine there.

They are all freaks and the kids are going to be totally screwed up

This 24 hour a day parenting basically means no parent can work so they live off the government. Nice deal to me!

You both needs time out, for both lots of sanity, and growth.

Selfish parents.
You should have to do parenting classes prior to giving birth, with these fruits.

Child abuse I hope the authorities were watching that show and take the children away from those people who should not even be around children

This is a prime example of why people should need a licence to have kids. It's also a prime example why people shouldn't need a licence to have a gun.

Hey, maybe channel 9 should cut some costs, bone a few employees and just replace 60 minutes with a mirror for an hour every Sunday night. The people who've just posted that they watch it sound just like the people they're describing.

So what's your take on the situation, you don't seem to have much to contribute other than bagging people for watching 60 Minutes.

You think it's a good idea to relieve the symptoms of conjunctivitis with breast milk?

I think there are bigger problems facing the world than whatever crap the spin doctors at 60 minutes have cooked up to let all the ****wit babyboomer armchair "experts" and concerned "human beings" have something to look down on so their own crap lives don't look so bad anymore.

60 minutes, the Herald Sun, Today Tonight and A Current Affair are turning the population of this country into mindless drones, so their taste can be predicted more easily and lessen the advertising investment risk.

I think these 'on tap' mothers probably get off on the breast feeding thing. So they get someone looking at them (who otherwise woudnt even see they existed)

Then to get more attention they would scream 'pervert' at the onlookers

"Theres sickos out there"

Feel better now? True or not, you've just regurgitated the same old lines there.

Did you ever think some people watch a show like that purely for entertainment? They can still get their information from other sources.

60 Minutes isn't great, but it's a lot better than TT & ACA.

Their crap story got a few people talking & thinking about parenting.

It's like food - a little bit of junk food every now and then won't hurt you in moderation.

No it ****ing is not! They're all the same ****ing show!

The fact that people take 60 minutes seriously only makes it worse than the others.

What you don't realise is that you seem even dumber then the people you are having a go at for daring to watch 60 minutes. Get a clue idiot before posting repetitive rubbish.

Grow up idiot. You've said nothing at all remotely intelligent in this thread and have just repeated the usual lines. I'd pull up now, as you're only serving to make yourself sound mentally poorer each post.

Have you got anything original to say at all? C9 drone, right wing......
We've heard it all before.

People can watch a show and make an informed opinion on it. You are obviously incapable of that. So you choose not to watch it. Good for you.

I have watched 60 minutes once before. I couldn't believe that what was virtually identical to the TV show "Rockbottom" (of the Simpsons fame) could actually pass as respectable journalism.

People who have informed opinions know better than to watch the tripe cooked up by 60 minutes.

Congratulations on having watched it once. Just confirms that you cannot make an assessment of your own based on that.

People who have informed opinions might be well advised to form their own opinion on the matter, rather than spew forth recycled opinions from other people.

You think?

It was as obvious as dogs testicles there was a sexual vibe there; and not just with the breastfeeding.

DOCS/DCD/FACS....they need to be kicking in some doors, and quickly.

If these kids are still there by the time they hit puberty, odds on it'll be a 24/7, group incest, free for all...:thumbsd:

And for a mother to be breast feeding a child at the age of 5 or 6, its likely that once the milk dries up, she will just let them suckle the nipple (and into the teen years and beyond)....all under the auspices of this weird 'movements' ideas about mother/child bonding.

And how bizzare was the whole 'holding the child in the air and letting them water the garden' thing...

They would be. And watching 60 minutes is a sure fire way to ensure that you have not formed your own opinion of something.

The show is simply another example of the anti-intellectual campaign that has been sweeping this country for almost a decade.

Thank God for SBS and the ABC.

Another example of originality - "the anti-intellectual campaign sweeping the country". Nice. Once again, you stated you have only ever watched the show once, so how can you make a decent assessment based on that? You can't.

You do realise 60 Minutes has been going to air for a little longer than the last ten years don't you? An example of a story that you wouldn't expect -did you know 60 Minutes in the US made the general public aware of the Gulf of Tonkin incident?

I don't particularly like the show, nor do I watch it most weeks, but I know I can at least make my own mind up on it, unlike yourself.

If I watch the show once, realise what absolute tripe it is, why should I watch it again?

If I'm not making up my own mind about it, who is?

And incidentally, why don't you like the show?

I will watch it occasionally as it sometimes has stories that may interest me.
I don't particularly like the show as it often has stories that don't interest me.
I've seen good stories, and I've seen bad stories.

If you reckon you're making your own mind up on the show after watching it once, and come on here spruiking about what a crap show it is and only morons watch it then you're only fooling one person.

It wouldn't have mattered what stories were on the one and only time you watched it, you have had your opinion on the matter shaped by others - that much is obvious. You've pretty much admitted it yourself.

There are plenty of people out there who watch 60 Minutes every single week who are a damn sight more intelligent than you will ever be. You actually need 60 Minutes more than the people who watch it, for if it weren't there who would you be able to look down upon from your pedestal and call ****wit, retarded, oblivious, right wing, Channel 9 drones?

Well, I would replace "Channel 9" accordingly, but there would be Herald Sun readers, Today Tonight watchers, A Current Affair watchers, Big Brother watchers, Meerkat Manor watchers, religious fundamentalists, the list goes on.

Oh well, even Plato complained about the stupidity of the masses, so I guess my voice will fall on deaf stupid ears as my cerebral brothers' and sisters' voices have done for thousands of years.

More power to you if you choose to watch 60 minutes. Won't stop me from thinking you're borderline retarded.

I did watch it as we have a new born child and was of interest to me, but generally do not watch 60 minutes because the journalism is quite frankly appalling. I can not see why anyone would so vigourously defend the show such as TuskenRaider is, but if he genuinely likes the show, we should not bag him for it - pity him maybe, but not bag him. Then again it has been on TV for some time and therefore must appeal to a large section of the Australian community which ofcourse is quite frightening.
