When you see who is umpiring your team's game, is there a particular umpire you hate to see named? Perhaps you just think he's no good, or perhaps think he has it in for your team specifically?
Maybe you don't care specifically for any of them and just think they're all no good?

Hate all of them TBO, especially Derek Woodcock and Chamberlin who are some of the worst umpires in the history of the game.
Chamberlin's just some little upstart who opens his mouth too often and doesn't back it up with many correct decisions.

I don't mind him giving lip to the players.....it's his need to be in the middle of everything and create controversy that irks me..and some of the decisions that he seems to end up in the middle of.....don't know, just seems to be find himself in the media more than any other umpire and go out of his way to do just that.

ever since the first quarter of the 2001 prelim vs essendon goldpink has quite clearly had some form of bias against hawthorn. thats the only time in my life i believe the umpire has changed the result of the game. on the other hand, he saved me $100 on a gf ticket cos theres no chance we wouldve beaten brisbane the folliwing week. so thanks d1ckhead
Goldspink. We'll never forget the 4-goals he kicked for the Pies in the 2nd quarter V Blues. It was a truely breathtaking effort. :)

Stinky Spinky has rose above all this year, but I still absolutely despise Vozzo, Head, McInerny, McLaren, Nicholls (the bald one) and Schmitt.
The only umpire I thought did a decent job was Matthew James, but he's dissapeared.

Goldspink is easily the worst on this list
But the sook McLaren really is the (pardon the pun) DOG of an ump.
No matter who the Dogs are playing, if McLaren is officiating, then we have a 4 goal wind against us!!

Chamberlin is a shocking umpire rarely gets it right the Adelaide vs Fremantle final this year he just clearly had no clue of what he was doing. I umpire myself so it takes a bit for me to say something about an umpire.

Good to see noone has voted for Allen, he is one umpire that i have alot of time for . He is clearly the best IMO and hes done a good job in the last 5 or 6 gfs from memory

A smart arse comment is one thing, but this guy is vindictive and it shows in his umpiring. He can't just give lip and then call the next one as he sees it. Instead, he lets personal bias muddle his decision making and makes decisions out of spite.

I actually saw Goldspink (99% sure it was him) outside TD after Robbie Williams concert.
My mate and I were wondering at the time whether we should become heroes of the Hawthorn faithful and take him down right there.
I'm actually suprised that it isn't just Hawks fans voting for him. I was positive that there couldn't be another team in the AFL that consistently gets screwed over by the same bloke.
Darren Goldspink is only getting votes because thats the only name people are putting a face to.
I only voted for him because I have met him a couple of times, and he is the only person I have ever met who does not have the ability to smile.
Really, if he wasn't an umpire I'd still mistrust him; he has been born witout some facial muscles and literally cannot smile. Suits his personality.

Mclaren would be my choice.
I don't really see why everyone hates Goldspink. Sure he gives the players lip but they're only getting back what they dish out re; Geelong's complaint against Goldspink. I'm sure the players have given far worse to him than he has to players, remember he's mic'd up so he can't say anything too explosive. Besides, I think as far as umpiring goes he's actually very good. I'll probably get shot down for this by people who don't actually watch the umpires and hate anyone who pays a free against their team but AFL isn't the easiest game to umpire anyway, especially with new 'interpretations' coming in every year.

Interesting to see this one back on the menu. It was mentioned that Goldspink is attracting votes because he's the one people can put a face to....why is this? Plenty of regular umpires at AFL level, yet many fans only know Goldspink. One of the first things umpires are taught is that a good umpire is never noticed!
Perhaps therein lies the problem.
I don't have issue with him giving the players a bit back, but never has one umpire got my goat over his continual over umpiring and free kicks and decisions that seem to be made to get him in the news.
Well, not since Vernon anyway. He seemed to give the Eagles such a hard time it was like he was going out of his way to prove he wasn't favouring his home state team.....he used to be rough on East Fremantle at WAFL level too and he was an East Freo junior product.
