Reported on 10 news that your rehab manager - Paul Haines - has gone to Geelong to head up their fitness department.

And Kinnear Beetson may have joined another club - sounded like it might be a Vic club - but they were vague on that.

Great opportunity for Haines IMHO. He has done a great job with us and deserved to be "the man" and he gets that with Geelong.

Kinnear was always going to be a 12 month appointment. Not because he is not good enough. Its rather the opposite. He is too good a recruiter to play second fiddle to someone. He deserves to be a Head Recruiting Manager somewhere and he was always going to get an opportunity to do so in 2007.

Glad we had him for a year and his input will be of great assistance when it comes to making choices at draft table.

If Beetson is so good why didn't we get rid of the current guy and give Beetson the head recruiting job. Fantassia is alright, but it's not as though he is in the upper echelon of recruiting managers. Boys Club????

The Haines appointment has been confirmed in todays Australian.

Great news for us, he comes with glowing praise from Stephen Schwerdt.

And is hopefully young enough not to have 20+yo kids.

perhaps given our record and consistency over the last 10 years, that the club thinks our recruiting is actually ok?

True but imagine how far we could have gone if we got a few picks between 2000-2003 right.
